Save a hoe Griffey was the best of his time if Bond's didn't juice. Griffey was in the same situation an African American and he didn't juice don't make excuses. He did what he did, Griffey without injury would have hit 800, WITH NO ROIDS. How is Bonds better? but you would be naive that race doesn't have a little to do with the witch hunt for Bonds. . I guess I am naive ....... I think it is schmucks like you that keep racial tension going

but you would be naive that race doesn't have a little to do with the witch hunt for Bonds. . I guess I am naive ....... I think it is schmucks like you that keep racial tension going Well then you are. It's people like yourself who think that there is no racial tension in this country. Are we supposed disregard slavery and that blacks have had their civil rights for only 40 years? If you knew me, you would know that I have all types of friends and I wish that this wasn't the case, I honeslty do. But it is, because there aren't alot people like you charlie that can look at a man as just a man and not the color of his skin. You might think that black people are delisiounal because we think race have alot of things. But unfortunately it does, and you've probably came to that conclusion because there are alot of situations that blacks do cry wolf about racism, which pisses me off, and makes other people like yourself think that we're over-reacting when there is an issue that where race factors in. So you have to be naive if were supposed to forget all that this country has done to us, and that it has something to do with the witch hunt. I wouldn't say that people actively and consciously hate defiant african americans in the mainstream but some do, but unconsciously, and the mainstream media, this does factor into some people conclusion about Bonds. Not just when he did roids, but even in the past when he was the best player in the game and he was considered an asshole. But with Giants fans, race does not matter. Every Giants fan of every color are together in knowing that Barry is a great player despite what everyone else thinks. It is outside of the Bay Area that race may factor in with people's opinion.

But what america didn't appreciate was that he was a man who did not care what people thought about him, and he knew that he was the greatest and let people know it, like Barry. This is trure. Barry's always acted like he knew he was the greatest and let people know it... but he was great because he was on steroids. You got to be fucking kidding me. I can almost agree more with charlie's post than this. If you ever watch Barry Bonds play baseball, and not watch sportscenter to make you conclusion on Bonds, you would know, like the legion of Giants fans know, that steroids did not factor in to his greatness. That's is the question that Giants fans ask, is why did he do it when he was going to be breaking the records in be a great player anyways? But regardless you have to be so stupid to think that Barry was only great because of roids. And to say that Barry get's what he deserves in cold blooded. Who deserves what he's going through? He didn't do anything to anybody else when he decided to do steroids. Like stork said, you don't know that man, and without the media, Bonds is one of the nicest athlets you'll ever meet, and this is coming from personal experience.

As a life long Reds fan, I saw Barry play in person many times before he started juicing. I was even 20 rows behind the dugout for game 6 of the NL Championship Series in 1990 because my best friends dad was an area rep for Gatorade. Barry was an All Star, no doubt. In fact, before he started juicing he was likely headed for the Hall of Fame. Which means I can't figure out for the life of me why he even took them? As even you point out, it's a "why" question that can't be answered without scoring a point to his naysayers. And the lack of answer is the crux of the problem that he is in today. He was asked to give that answer while under oath in a court of law. If his answer that he "didn't know they were steroids" is in fact a lie, then he committed perjury. The only way he comes out of this situation clean is if he can convince the court that he really didn't know. Good luck with that!

Every Giants fan of every color are together in knowing that Barry is a great player despite what everyone else thinks. You're losing credibility with every post. From: www.usatoday.com/sports/baseball/2007-11-15-bonds-reax_N.htm?csp=34"Giants fans divided on Bonds" [snip] Mike Lehane, a native San Franciscan and city employee, said he admired Bonds more when he played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, before his remarkable physical transformation in his mid- to late 30s. "I gave him a little more slack because I'm a Giants fan. If I wasn't, I'd be all over him," Lehane said. "I won't hang his picture next to my Juan Marichal." [/snip]

There are some people who jump all over people due to what the media says (TO, Moss, Bonds, Artest, etc) and there are some people who judge who people are based on their performance and what they personally have seen from the man.
Giants fans who do not like Bonds are susceptible to media interpretation of a player and what they say. Many Giants fans know Barry as a fantastic player on-field; and a family man who keeps to himself off-field.

True... and then there are some people who will leave it up to the court to decide. There's a group of Giants fans who can see that Bonds doesn't stand a chance in the courts, so the other Giants fans are trying to portray those fans as nothing but victims of propoganda.

Bonds was a Hall of famer before the roids, but I don't think he would have broken the HR record, especially 70, but Big Mac was juiced too. So Maris should still have it.
Its unfortunate that he did take them, because he probably would be considered one of the best baseball players of all time, but this will hang over his career no matter what. Also the record is more crucified based upon that is the most popular thing in baseball. What does the average fan want to see? Homers! True fans know the game and certain stats and players are more important, but most fans would rather a guy go 1-4 with a homer then get 4 singles in a game, for instance Ichiro.
Most don't know he even broke an 80 year old record for hits in the regular season. He hit a ridiculous amount. 263 hits in a season, in 162 games. But no body cares because Hr's are the shit.
