How upset would you be sativa if the Grizzlies selected Love with the #5 pick. Draft express.com and espn's mock draft both have him going there.

The Grizzlies front office has been a joke recently.
Seriously, trading away your "franchise player" for utter crap and now selecting possibly Kevin Love with the #5 pick when he's slotted to go in the early to mid-teens, what the hell is wrong with this front office?

Well that's the first problem there....Pau is not a franchise player and the Grizzlies tried to force that on him. Also, just because a mock draft or article says the Grizzlies are taking Love, that doesn't make it true. No one knows until the draft. Hopefully they get things turned around and get going in Memphis. Going to games that are all loses and blowouts aren't as fun as fighting for the playoffs!

i have a feeling the grizz are taking Love.....i hope they don't, but if taking love stops them from taking Brooke Lopez, then i'm all for it...
i'm still holding out hope we trade with miami and get beasley...
lord, do the Griz suck....
regarding pau.....the front office fucked up when they gave him that max contract.....almost forced our hand to unload him for an expiring contract once our team went to shit....

i never really watched Love play except for when dorsey bitch slapped him. Beyond that I hear he's making great strides in getting in shape and that his athleticism is better than expected. Some people say he's too short for the position, but I think height has become one of the most overrated attributes in the NBA. Love seems to be like Brand only love has a better shot and better handle. People seem to forget Love played as good or better against Oden in highschool, yet Oden is considered a future Hall of famer without ever playing a NBA game.
Not saying i'm all for Love, but based on what i'm hearing it wouldn't be as bad as I originally thought. Honestly, other than Beasley which bigs are as good or better than Love in the draft?

i'm more concerned about his conditioning...
love might have had a good vertical when rested....but how will it be after 40 minutes of fast break basketball...
i think that is why Love looked overmatched against the Tigers....not only was that the first time in college he played against a team with that many NBA-ready players, but he had to play at a fast paced....which may have contributed to his 35 inch vertical being a 2 inch vertical when CDR slammed one on his head....

yeah, but that's why Love has been working out. Remember he was just a freshman. He dominated Highschool at his size and played damn well his freshman year at that size, so why fix something that isn't broken. Once he got owned by the Tigers and Dorsey I imagine it clicked in his head that he needs to get in shape if he wants to have a successful NBA career.

Yeah that or the millions upon millions of dollars at stake in the NBA Draft.

a successful NBA career would ultimately land him more money than a high draft pick would

And you honestly think that it took the Tigers to beat UCLA in final four in order for him to realize that getting into great shape would help his draft stock and future NBA career? UCLA lost because Memphis crowded the paint. Collison was dominated by Rose and Schipp and Westbrook had been horrible three point shooters all season. If you look at their season statistics its amazing they even got as far as they did.
