Just sad that the only way the RedSox could break the cruse is to cheat. Almost that entire roster was on the juice for both titles. I say the MLB gets some balls a strips the team and players of their awards. In the olympics if you get caught cheating you loose your medals and in the NCAA many of banners have been taken down. What message are we sending. Cheat, and if you get caught no biggie you get to keep all the money and awards. Marion Jones lost all her gold medals. Take away the cheating sox WS titles and all the awards of the Cheaters, like Arods MVP should be taken back. Should we also strip the titles and records of pitchers who used spitballs? Or the records of all the players that used amphetamines throughout the years? Or do you only care about certain methods of "cheating"?

Damn, didn't know Papi got caught, but you knew.
Great point stork. I think alot of folks are interested in how they cheated. Because all I know is if folks want to put asterisks on records, then we might as well put an asterisk on everything pre-integration. Baseball excluded alot of non white players. You can't tell me that alot of things would be different if non-white players were allowed to play.
Baseball always have an era of cheating. It's just the culture of the sport. That's why I know at least 75% of the players were doing it, because if you weren't doing all that you could do for you team, then you were probably getting called out. So for people to say that non of these players should be in the hall of fame, then their should be alot of players thrown out the hall. And plus, you're denying alot of deserving players in the hall, and you can't do that.

ask the players that didnt juice how they feel. Ask the guy who never made the bigs bc he didnt cheat, ask the guy who never made the all star team bc he didnt cheat. The people like papi get all the money and fame just because he used PEDs. Ask the players that played the game the right way if they think people should keep their records.

Now please answer my question.

Really interested in the answer to this... Of course different forms of cheating should have varying degrees of punishment, What degree of punishment should spitballers receive? What degree of punishment should amphetamine users receive? Because so far, they haven't had any.

Steroids have been around longer then just recently mind you. I'm pretty sure they were invented some where around the early World war one or two to give to soldiers for war. So, who's to say baseball players weren't taking them back in the day as well? Considering a good amount of players left baseball to join the war, and there were no such testing back then or told that they were bad. So, who's to say tons of championships shouldn't be stripped.
Ferg you are just a straight hater, lol. I'm pretty sure big papi had some game winning Hits as well, not HR's Hits, would those have not been hits if he wasn't juicing, would those have just barely rolled in the grass? You act like the guy couldn't hit a single HR if he wasn't on them, lol. He is a big guy anyways, he can still hit HR's, I don't think it is that much of a difference that give you a world series.

Because so far, they haven't had any. I'm not a baseball historian. I imagine the punishment was getting kicked out of that game if they were caught. I'm not aware of what the MLB or the United States rules against amphetamines were nack in the day. From what I understand they were considered no worse than a cup of coffee.

different methods of cheating give you a better advantage. An illegal injection that makes you bigger, faster, and stronger. Is alot different then taking greenies to stay awake or spiting on the ball for movement. Yes those things are not allowed, liked crocked bats and pine tar. But the difference with the other methods is the players are still using their god given abilities to achive their stats. With PEDs you can turn some scrub into some super human freak and then you see javy lopez or brady anderson hitting 50 HR.

Dude started killing the ball at the end of his careeer.

So using greenies to be a ball of energy when you'd otherwise be too tired to play is using your "god given abilities?" If a player is injured and takes a cortizone shot to be able to play through the pain that's no big deal, but if a player is injured and takes HGH to get his body healthy then they should have all their stats taken away? What are your thoughts on things like Creatine and other supplements? Using supplements is certainly more than just using your "god given abilities" Drugs are drugs. Some drugs are more effective than other drugs, but everyone has been using some sort of drug to improve their performance throughout baseball history. But now we have the media looking into the new flavor of drug, and it's causing a ruckus with people who can't bother to think for themselves.

Who cares? These guys did what they needed to do, to make tons of money. They cheated and didn't get caught, until it no longer mattered.
If you ain't cheating, then your not trying

The reward to risk ratio is just too high.
