I am not saying this particular loss is Howard's fault, but his FT shooting certainly didn't help. However, in a broader sense, he is not a leader that will take a team to the next level. He is also not capable of realizing this, thus you are just not gonna be very successful with him as THE guy. He is fine for now, but before its over he will be an albatross killing the Rox for years with that contract.

I'll never understand how a professional basketball player can be such a horrible FT shooter.

good point but some of those guys have freakish coordination for a big man (yao, hakeem, bradley etc) that isn't seen all that often. they likely weren't jacked up on roids or testosterone therapy like howard might be.
obviously there's the mental aspect, dwight being a mental midget doesn't help.

Officially concerned about the Spurs. They are fortunate they are not down 0-3 in this series right now.
Too many turnovers and not using mis-matches to their advantage so far. Pretty simple stuff.
I said it before the season, Kawhi Leonard is the secret to their success all year, no coincidence that they won 19 in a row when he came back from injury and they rounded a corner.

I think mental is probably the main issue with Howard. Same as Shaq. Shaq actually got his FT above .600 one year when they had a FT specialist working with him, but then shaq stopped using him and his FT went back down. I'm sure Howard is a decent FT shooter in practice and then just fucks up in the games because of the pressure and knowing everyone is expecting him to miss half the time

Players and coaches have said he shoots fine in practice, like 80 percent or something like that.

Holy fuck at that horrible officiating in overtime. I have watched a lot of basketball in the last decade, and well, this may have been the most ill-officiated post season I can recall, and we aren't even out of Round 1. Did y'all see Lin's run to the basket? In the Grizz/Thunder series it has gone both ways, admittedly. But the inconsistency is the problem. Zbo is getting mauled on one end, then we are calling touch fouls on the other end. At the same time there have been multiple times where both teams bigs just grab and pull away their opponent and allow for an offensive board by another player. Tony Allen goes over the back multiple times a game and is never called. It's just poor officiating. What sucks is that inevitably in the fourth quarter they wanna get all tight with the calls and then both teams are in the bonus with 8 minutes left in the quarter b/c the refs need to fell important.

Seriously, this is ruining the best first round ever. It's like 50/50 on whether an official makes the right call. Houston could easily be up 3-1 minus two phantom calls late game.

Interesting dilema the NBA faces with these reviews where an obvious foul occurs but is not called and it results in the ball going out of bound and possession changing. Not sure what the right call is. I think I like them being able to say "a foul occurred, thus resulting in the ball going out of bounds" and not charing them with a foul or giving FTs if in bonus, but giving the team who got fouled the ball. I don't like the thought of being able to give fouls after a review.
However, LOL at lebron being able to body slam Joe Johnson, yet get touch fouls on the other end, OK.
