I think he did.
There was a year when both him and Madison made it together....I think it was that year.

They were. They were badass at single coverage.
They were two of the best, not the two best. I didn't say two best, that was ESPN, and all them.

I think they are above some of the DBs in that list. One that stands out is Troy Vincent (former Dolphin that Jimmy Johnson fucked up). He is very good, but I don't think he is on their level.
Woodson has to get healthy too.

If I had to choose a DB now, I think I would have to go with Ed Reed. He is awesome.

A few years back, the Blazers in their infinite wisdom chose to play Brian Grant over a young and unproven player in Jermaine Oneal. At the time Brian was a decent PF/C and they also had another young player in Rasheed Wallace, I think at the time they dreamed of a Grant/Wallace front court that would domintate the boards and post. Well, we see how that all worked out. When they had O'Neal though, didn't they get to the Western Conference Finals two years in a row in 1999 and 2000? Seems like it was a solid risk to me.

That exchange between the Kings and Hawks GM was mind numbing. Talk about a lesson in post padding! ;D
Like Kings, I also think Grant was a big part of the Heat as well as the Trail Blazers before that, and I'm not a fan of either team. He brought many intangibles to the team including setting screens, drawing attention away from Rasheed Wallace in Portland or Alonzo Mourning in Miami. His 10 rebounds per game made Mourning's 10 much more effective.
Grant is one of the most underrated players of the 1990's, for sure, right up there with Buck Williams.
