Scream is probably my favorite horror movie. I think the Exorcist is probably the best made horror movie. As for the scariest, I would go with Jaws. It's one of the few movies that has actually affected me once the movie is over. While, I'll still go out into the ocean, if it gets any deeper than my waist, there's no way in hell i'm going any further.

The ring is definetly the best movie ever made, scary in a different way than all the others. Nothing jumping out at you, but an awesome movie. I still get chills just thinking about some of the scenes.

The Ring or Exorcist is the best..

Have either of you seen Ringu, the original version? It's better at explaining the tape and girl's past.

I saw the ring and that was proly the scarriest movie i had ever seen..........until i saw the exorcist..........that girl's face still haunts my mind...............but what a well done movie! Can't wait til the prequel "Exorcist: The Beginning" comes out.
The Ring is a very dark movie with very scary scenes and suspenseful moments, but its no where near comparison to the best scary movie ever.

If you don't mind foreign films, it's worth checking out. I don't like it as much as the new version, but it explains more. A lot of the scenes are very similar as well.

Other good horror movies: candyman, the thing (carpenter version), hellraiser series, evil dead series, night and dawn of the dead (original versions)
All I do is watch horror movies. I've seen the good and the horribly bad.

ringu is ok, not much different if you've seen the ring. The ring is very american compared to the other one and you can really tell by the acting and directing(much better, IMO). ringu is worth checking out though if you're as big as a fan of the ring as I am. Subtitles are a bitch though

Halloween movies are the best ones and the most scariest but i gotta say the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre might of challenged any halloween movie as scariest movie ever because the sheriff scares the poop out of me
