How many sims have you guys been in?
This is my first one that actually matters. I was in another one years ago, that really sucked bad.
Just curious to see the experience level.

I've been in about 3 that never got to the first offseason, then one (GXL) that had a good run but eventually fell apart in its 7th season or so. One other one that I was in for about 3 seasons, but was slowly dying the entire time i was there. Now I'm just in this one, and one other...but that one has new posts about once week and I'm not nearly as into it as I am this one. So to make a long story short, about 6 i guess

Been in a couple, not a lot. Prolly less than 6.
Let's see. . . I've also been the GM of Celtics, Nuggets, Hawks, and Grizzlies.
I did a very good job with the Celtics. It was my very first sim, and I spent a lot of time on my team. I did a great job clearing out bad contracts and stock piling on good picks and young talents. The team was a disaster area when I arrived. Its best player was Lamar Odom with his 14 ppg for goodness sake.
Too bad the league was badly managed. I wasn't pleased with how the mods were running the league, and weren't afraid to let them know about it. They decided the best way to deal with the problems that I spotted is by firing me.
Only regret was that I didn't get to see the fruit of my labour. With all the cap space, young talent, and good lottery picks that I had managed to amass, my team would have been great in a season or two.
My tenure as the Nuggets GM was equally brief. I think the league lasted about 20 games, before everything just disappeared. It's like one day the league is there, and the next day you try to go to the site, it's not there anymore.
I went on AIM and asked around, and apparently the commish decided to quit, and the new commish wanted to start a new league, so he deleted everything without consulting with anyone else.
Next up, some guy AIMed me and ask me to join his new league. I did, and took up the Hawks.
However, the moment the commish kept telling me "This is going to be a great league", "The league will keep going for a long time, you'll see", and "I'm going to spend a lot of time on this league, I promise", I knew that the league wasn't in good hands.
As it turns out, barely a few weeks had gone by, and the commish approached me and ask if I can take over as the commish of the league.
I mean, the whole season was done, including playoffs, in 7 sims. Shows you how much effort the commish put into it.
The league's still around though, and I'm still the Hawks GM. But it's what I call my 'casual team' now.
In the past 1 or 2 weeks, I was asked to join another start up league, and this time I took on the Grizzlies.
Everything looked ok, until the commishes started vetoing trades, leading to a big exodus, where a couple of GMs all resigned simultanueosly.
Great way to start a league.
I'm still in it, but it's quick becoming another 'casual team' of mine.
So yeah, that's about it, my experience with sim leagues, told in one post.

But I have to confess, I'm still looking around for a second league that is worth me investing my time in.
I've been looking around, and a few seems promosing, but I haven't made any decisions.
Fear not though, as long as SLO maintains this level of quality, I'd be a dedicated Heat GM.

The first sim I was in was about a year to two years ago, it lasted about two weeks before it ended. Then I was in the HFFBL for almost two seasons before that ended. Then I was in another sim for 2 or 3 days before the commish fired me. Now i'm in this one. So, this is really only my second sim to have lasted at least a season in a year or two.

Then I was in another sim for 2 or 3 days before the commish fired me. Why was that? You don't seem firing material.... This is my second serious sim. The other one I was in had a good commish so it still lasts but had only 2 or 3 good GMs and it was no fun.

Because the commish was a dumbass. He had a suggestions fourm, so I made a suggestion of using a player search that we had in the HFFBL, then he bitched at me and said it was stupid and that he wouldn't do it, but i could if i wanted to waste my time. Then he had a trash talk forum and he made a post calling all the GMs bitches and said he wanted to see personal attacks on the other teams and GMs. So, I responded as a joke and trash talked him and that pissed him off. So, he finally fired me. And we had this big argument that was pretty funny. Then he aims me with a different name, but it has the same structure as his other name and he's using the same kind of font. He tries to ask me what other leagues i'm in. And i called him on it and he was saying, no i don't know who you're talking about, i just remember you asking me about a trade. And I was like, i've never talked to this aim name in my life. And he left.

sounds like most of you have been in leagues craeted by Justin Mcgrady or Cdubbz those guyz are the ones who start leagues like every 2 weeks and then resign as owners. but ya here is an advice IF SOMEONE IMS U ABOUT JOINING THEIR SIM. DONT SAY YES UNTIL YOU... CHECK THE AMOUNT OF POSTS THEY MAKE. WATS URE TEAM POSITION LIKE. AND HOW THE SITE LOOKS. most good leagues take their time on all making everything perfect so check some things out before u say yes also if u want a good second league i recommend DBA. very well run leauge prob in 2007 now. using real players. commish is great and almost all gms are active. not as active on the boards though. www.dbasim.vzz.net i believe. there is a couple more good ones out there. if u need helping finding out contact me and ill help u find one but beware there is usually a long waiting list on those one. DBA probably has around 10-15 on waitnig list... also if someone ims u and u dunt know if u should join that league ask me and ill help u cuz i know which leagues will last a weeek and which will last couple of months..
