now thats a quality movie.. not the type of war film i would choose because there is only a slight part in the movie with shooting in it. i preferr non stop action.

I had to go with Blackhawk Down.
It followed the real events very closely.
And Ive always wanted to see Gallipoli. I know what really happened, but I wanted to see the movie.
Some other great war movies;
Lawrence of Arabia - You gotta see that one. A Bridge Too Far - Excellent account of Market Garden The Longest Day - Captures the immensity of D-Day pretty well. Das Boot - Excellent movie, but naval based. U571 - Also good, but more like Das Boot with less acting and more torpedos. Stalingrad - fascinating movie. Would be nicer in English. Enemy at the Gates - Well, what it really captures is the desolation and meatgrinder that was Stalingrad. Especially the "the man with the rifle shoots, the other man follows after him. when the man with the rifle is killed, the other man picks up the rifle and SHOOTS!" scene. Gettysburg was good Red Dawn - Good hypothetical of partisan warfare.
