how many pointless chucky movies are going to come out. This actually looks like a comedy/horror movie, that stupid doll just never dies, and I want him to!

I hate chucky. For a good scary movie go see the saw. That's right.

Saw wasn't scary.
IMO, Chucky is the best horror figure ever. Not the scariest, but still the best. You look at Michael Myers, Jason, etc. and all they do is walk around and kill people. That's cool, but they have no personality. I like Freddy, but some of his stuff gets too overthetop in the latter movies. It gets too cheesy. Pinhead is badass, but he's more of an intellectual killer. He talks and doesn't really do any kind of hand to hand killing. Chucky, however, his personality can't be beat in horror movies. He seems more like an actual person, even though he's just a doll. The greatest is in Child's Play 3 when the guy has a heart attack. That was just completely idiotic and most horror movies would just let that be the end of the scene, but Chucky stands there and says, "you got to be fucking kidding me." (or something along those lines). I'm not saying the Child's Play series is the best, but Chucky himself, is one of the few horror figures with a personality.

I agree 100% with Grizz.
Chucky makes the movies funny. He is not gonna ever scare the hell out of you, but he will make you laugh with his jokes while he is doing the dirty work.

well it wasn't just some guy going around killing people, if that's what you mean by scary, but it was pretty pyscological, seeing what people would do in a given situation with a time limit, and got some crazy results

Just going around killing people isn't necessarily scary either, but this movie still isn't scary. It's not a psychological horror either, it might want to be, but it isn't.
SPOILERS
The selling point for this movie were the "games." Yet, these games had no sense of "psychological horror." Other than the main "game," all the others were only shown in a glimpse. It would only cut back and forth between flashbacks of the game and something else. And, don't even get me started on the pointless fast editing, that was lame. In the movie, there was nothing scary about the guy in the barbed wire, nothing scary about the guy with the safe, or the girl with lock jaw. Why? Because it didn't show hardly anything and lasted maybe 30 seconds. It never built any suspense, never told you who these characters really are beyond a generalized, "she's a drug addict." I never felt anything for these people and was never given enough time to be afraid for them, since it was over as soon as it started. Then, with the main "game" it only worked part of the time. Sometimes it was serious, sometimes too fake, and the rest of the time was telling other parts of the story with flashbacks or whatever else was going on.
I don't hate the movie or anything, I like it, although dissapointed after the hype, but I still don't think this movie is scary.

What hype? I've only seen about 3 commercials for it, and heard nothing from TV, radio, internet, etc. If anything grudge was overhyped, and saw needed more advertising

I guess it depends on where you are, because here, Saw was more hyped with the people I know than the Grudge.
Also, if you weren't supposed to care about the people, then when was the movie supposed to be scary, since the "games" were the focal point of the movie. Honestly, were you ever scared of the killer? Maybe, you'd think he's fucked in the head because of what he does, but it never built him up enough that you'd actually be scared of him. You never really see him do much of anything. The movie seemed a little too fragmented and instead of developing any one character or plot, it only gave pieces of several.

there were essentially 7+ characters fighting for screen time, so I ended up never got enough info for any of them
