Neither bad was as good, sorry I completely disagree. Part of your statement is saying Sound garden is good because they made a new album recently. Tough to do that with Kurt dead, lol. Pearl Jam was always Nirvana's little brother.
Not saying both aren't good, but it isn't close to be honest.

Pearl Jam was always Nirvana's little brother. Not saying both aren't good, but it isn't close to be honest. I never said Soundgarden was better because they made a new album recently. Nirvana's B-sides weren't that great (the albums "Bleach" and "Incesticide"), but because they made two home-run albums, which is when they became huge, they are considered amazing. They are phenomenal, but I'd still take Pearl Jam's "Ten" over any Nirvana album, and Soundgarden's "Badmotorfinger" and "Superunknown" certainly rival anything Nirvana ever did. I do think longevity has to be considered, though. Pearl Jam started off strong with "Ten" and "Vs." before experimenting a bit and losing some of their fanbase along the way. Nirvana was so shortlived they never got the chance to try out that "experimental album" all bands that last a long time do. Again, I love both "Nevermind" and "In Utero", definitely two of the best albums ever. But I think discounting "Ten" and "Vs." by Pearl Jam, and "Badmotorfinger" and "Superunknown" by Soundgarden as anything lesser than what Nirvana started out with is a little unfair. All albums mentioned are insanely good, to the point where it's hard to pick a favorite. In the end Pearl Jam wins out for me because of how long they've lasted, how many great albums they have put out ("Backspacer", released in 2009, is a phenomenal record), and how they are still going strong. It's just a shame we never got to see how long Nirvana could have lasted.

Stone Temple Pilots and Alice in Chains were better than Nirvana too. Nirvana got massively overrated once Kurt Cobain killed himself.

I like them, but I've never fallen hardcore in love with them. AIC on the other hand is also excellent. "Dirt" is a ridiculously depressing but amazing album. And their "MTV Unplugged" is nearly up there with Nirvana's. So many special bands in the early 90's, man.

That would explain it. Nirvana is grunge music, those others aren't as grungy. Not saying they aren't good, just Nirvana is truest form of grunge. As for Bish, I can say the grass is green and he would say it is blue, lol. I don't think we have agreed on one single thing ever, lol. You are high if you think stp and chains were as good.

I would say you are definitely right that Nirvana was the band that sounded the most grungy. But in terms of the best band to come from the grunge era, I still think PJ and Soundgarden are better. Again though dude, I love Nirvana, I love that whole era. I would say instrumentally and song-wise Nirvana is definitely better than AIC, but I actually think there's a case to be made that Cobain and Layne Staley of AIC are in a virtual deadlock in terms of vocal capabilities. I still think Staley remains vastly underrated to this day. Unfortunately, like Cobain, he also died way to young in 2002 from a drug overdose.

I have never heard of somebody being able to pull a trigger on a shotgun after a drug overdose He had drug addiction yes, but actually committed suicide with a shotgun.

My bad, I didn't mean for it to come across as though they both died of drug addiction, merely that they both died young. I still don't know where I stand on Kurt's death. I've read a lot on the subject and I could honestly see where both sides are coming from.
