Absolutely not you've proved your point by sticking it out and getting the degree. You can now go into a number of different fields. All of the companies I applied at coming out of college could give a rats ass what my degree was in but by getting the bachelors degree I was now qualified for them to hire me.

But about the immigration thing, illegal is illegal I have a big problem with this statement, and unfortunately it seems to be the way that most Americans feel. To me, laws are just words on paper - put there by some beurocrat who thinks that he is saving the world by putting these words on these papers (which, by the way, most of the senate and congress doesn't even READ the laws they are passing - just the titles, and a short summary.) What we really need to think of instead of illegal vs. legal is right vs. wrong. Alcohol was "illegal" in the 20's. Computer keyboard cleaners are legal right now, but millions of kids all over America are getting high by "dusting" (inhaling these fumes.) A kid recently died from "dusting" with these perfectly legal products, instead of just getting high by smoking some pot - because that's illegal. Right now in texas there are cops who are arresting hundreds of people for being "drunk in public" in a bar. IN A BAR. Technically "illegal," but is it actually wrong to be drunk in a bar? Probably not.

illegal is illegal does not work for many......if they had a chance to go ahead in their own country why would they come to the US the reason these people come to the US because they have no chance to come up from the bottom of the social ladder in their society, here they believe they have a chance but sometimes its just as bad as it is in their own country

does the US give the equal opportunity to other races? Is that why there's still a "ghetto" or extremely poor neighborhoods and such? All I see in the US's bunch of rich white guys, few black guys, and foreigner thats rich but when i worked at the public hospital (usually free health care for the needed) its 75% black 24% latino and VERY VERY few white people. Why would you want more minorities in the nation when we have our own minorities still trying to climb the ladder here and not succeeding. So what do say the African American community in Roxbury suppose to do? Most dont climb the ladder, run the Canada so they'll have a new opportunity? Opportunity for the poeple are there in the Central American/ South American nations, they have to go to school but they dont so what happens to them? They get stuck jobless becuase most jobs require some degree of school. We dont need anymore poeple on the lower end until we fix our own low class people first, THEN maybe bring some more latino's here and there. By having these illegal people, it just makes the lower class we have now into a middle class which should make the government happy, but still creates this unequal balance dont ya think?

Opportunity for the poeple are there in the Central American/ South American nations, they have to go to school but they dont so what happens to them? that is not necessarily true........actually that argument applies more to the poor people here the people of countries in south america.......many times people of those nations are not able to find work that pays enough to support their family or a life well suited.......many children must work in order to help out their parents because the parents can not make enough money here children have the education and get free high school........there are so many programs to help the poor here.....many are just too lazy to seek them or have other reasons which stop them from using or seeking this help do you think that the people who crossed the border would come to america if they had the same oppurtunities in their own country? that is why america is "the land of oppurtunity" and that is why illegals come here rather than stay in their own country

also it is impossible to "fix" our lower class...... if we were to fix our lower class who would do the demeaning jobs that nobody wants? the lower class will always be there to do the jobs undesired by many
and what do you mean about having the illegals come in here would make the lower class we have now the middle class?
the lower class has almost nothing so some1 coming in with nothing would just add to the lower class rather than make the lower class the middle class?

Can't you even imagine that if they are happy to be in the US living like that, how bad it would be in their original countries?

When do I evolve into "middle class" from "lower class"?
Will a light shine down and say "You are now Middle Class, rejoice".

Celtics i don't mind you at all, but im sorry you have to be one of the most ignorant people i have heard. How the hell are they going to pay for school with a student visa if that is the right way? Student loans right, haha, yeah right. You know how hard it is to get student loans and especially people that our from another country? Doesn't happen. I think you need to travel to Africa or latin america and see for yourself, then you would understand why they come over to America.
