Recently, the Dallas Cowboys decided to give troubled Wide Receiver Terrell Owens another chance at stardom by giving him what he wanted. The question is....
Is bringing in a known trouble maker that possesses all the talent in the world worth a few more wins and a chance at a Superbowl appearance knowing he has hurt a couple franchises in the past? Some say it's too much of a risk, and some say it's all about the wins. What's your point of view?

That news story was from March 29. I thought it was surprising. I find it hard to believe Parcells would be back in Dallas at the end of this season. I think that this is important in that Parcells would probably be fine with dealing with Owens for one season.
It should be interesting to see what happens after this season, but not moreso than what happens during the season in Dallas.
I'm not sure that wins are more important than dollar signs to Jerry Jones, however.

But TO's TO, he has game if he shuts up and if he gets a coach that gives him direction like Tuna, i would be quite affraid of what he's capable of. Look at Keyshawn with the Tuna, he didnt create any fuss and look how well he behaved. TO also probably felt messed up after knowing that he isnt the mac daddy of the league when he got benched for the season too. I bet the Tuna like Reid would do the same thing if he says or does something stupid again like in Philly.
Its a risk but not much of it so they can go allll the way

Terrell Owens can no more shut up and be a normal, productive teammate than I can crap gold. He is who he is, and you have to take the entire package. That means that any hypothetical starting with, "Well, if he could just be a little more likeable, and not talk so much..." is worthless, because that is simply not a possibility.
That said, he is a difference maker. However, he has left behind complete and utter carnage behind him at his last two stops. In San Fran, he accused his quarterback of being gay, screamed and ranted at his offensive coordinator on the sidelines, and made himself so unwanted that he forced his team into trading him away. Then when he was traded to Baltimore, he pitched a fit until the trade was rescinded and he was moved to Philly. After two seasons in Philly, he accused his quarterback of being a sellout and a choke artist, alienated himself from his team at training camp, and forced his head coach to send him home early.
You know what's going to happen here. It's just a matter of when. Being a Redskins fan, I cannot wait to see the chaos.

TO will definelty make the Cowboys better for a year. Sometime in the 2nd year he will start to rant about how he isn't getting the ball enough, Drew Bledsoe is a bum, Parcels is overrated, etc.
Personally I don't think he's worth it, but that's because I've already seen what he can do to tear a team apart being a 49ers fan. And I'm willing to bet that no Eagles fan out there thinks he's worth it either (probably Baltimore too).
So the Cowboys will probably be 10-6 or 11-5 this year, maybe or maybe not have a chance at the superbowl...all depends on who is hot at the time - then they will be back to the Cowboys of the early 2000's and late 1980's: TRASH. By this time Bledsoe will be too old, Parcells will be retired, and all of the young 'team' players they have will be gone via free agency somewhere far far away from Mr. Owens and his huge ego.

Yeah I'm an Eagles fan, lol. I dunno anyone who likes TO. This year he was complaining about not getting the ball enough, yet was leading the league in catches or something. Just imagine what he'll say about Drew fuckin Bledsoe.

He has matured and should be fine, because he is making the contract that he wants. It's only for 3 years and i think that because the money he is getting in those years that he will listen to parcells and do what it takes to show why he is a great player in this league.
His age is getting up there and i think he realizes that he career will be coming to an end soon, so i think he knows that he doesn't want to be remembered for tearing teams apart when he leaves the game, he wants to be remembered as a great WR. Of this is all coming from a cowboy fan that i hope these assumptions are true:)

Since TO is a difference maker on the field (I think everyone agrees with that) I'd take him without thinking twice. Maybe there's one if. If I had a coach capable of dealing with "special" personalities.
Fact is right now, Cowboys fans are full of hope and the other fans are scared that he might put them a a step ahead and crossing their fingers in hope that he messes up again. But they can't sleep when they think "what if he doesn't?".
This is the view of someone who loves sports but couldn't care less about Football. Cases like these exist in every sport though and I'd still give them a shot in my team. Unless I had the best team of course. No point taking chances in that case.

I'm personally happy about it. 49ers have no shot this season anyway, and in 2-3 seasons when they might have a chance the Cowboys will be crap - making it one less team they have to compete with.

I probably don't although I know the TO story pretty well and don't think I said anything wrong.

He wasn't getting paid nearly what he wanted in Philly compared to the contract that he definitely wanted in Dallas. As far as contract wise he is happy, so i think he will get the ball plenty and be happy with the system Parcells instills, because parcells has handled plenty of egos on his teams before.
