I don't like him, but he is an amazing player.
That doesn't mean that he makes his teammates any better. How would you feel if you just stood around all day on the 3 point line watching Kobe do his thing. If you get the ball, you pass it back to him.
By the time you get a shot you're so out of the flow of the game that you'll probably miss it because you've just been standing around all day. Then on the defensive end you aren't completely into the game either - and you likely get blown by on defense. On the fast break you don't run hard the whole way knowing that Kobe will likely take it to the hoop himself, or just slow down the game and get into the Kobe-offense.
You need 5 guys to win. Kobe may be the best 1 - but he makes the other 4 basically worthless.
Lebron isn't the best 1 player - but he makes the other 4 play above their abilities.
Same for Nash and Dirk

ok well im finally in this one but basically best player playing DISREGARDING records is Kobe Bryant HANDS DOWN....and this is for a guy who vehemently hates him but LeBron is who i would name MVP........as new players continue to be created by the Suns i start to think that it is more the system than Nash, sure he is good but i am starting to doubt his MVP award a lil but i still think he deserves it chauncey billups is not really a MVP candidate.......there are too many people who are good on that team that cancel it out........ why shouldnt ben wallace get it? rip hamilton? rasheed wallace? the list goes on........... dwayne wade....i would say finishes 3rd, sure he is having a great season but his team isnt even with all the talent they have kobe as i said before......he is playing amazing but his team sucks.......if he can do this once the lakers get a team around him he can finally get that MVP trophy as for dirk he is good but he has good supporting cast aroudn him and isnt doing that much better from what he did last year MVP Voting imo 1- LeBron 2- Nash T3- Wade and Kobe 5- Dirk

as for dirk he is good but he has good supporting cast aroudn him and isnt doing that much better from what he did last year This isn't most improved player. It's most valuable. Dirk was 3rd in voting last year. It's hard to improve on those numbers but he had a bigger impact on the team and Dallas has a better record. As for his cast, everyone had their injuries at some point and they didn't lose because of the others missing time. Same thing was said when he had Nash and Finley but he doesn't seem to be missing any of them. It's your opinion and it's valid but the arguments for it are weak.

how can the opinion be valid if the argument is supposedly weak? It can't but I had no other way to put it nicely. So I based it on what "they" say: "Everyone is entitled to their opinion and every opinion is a valid one" (which is obviously bullshit)

Top 2 is fine but while I agree he is not wowing anyone like Kobe, I would put him ahead of those 2 for 3rd because of team record. Especially Wade since I can't consider for MVP someone that isn't even the main focus of defense during the whole time he is on court (shaq is when on court)

yea id put kobe ahead of wade right now in terms of playing but i would like to think of them as equals in MVP voting even though kobe is having a better season......wade is leading a team which was riddled with injuries and still ahve number 2 in the conference while the lakers are what 7th seed and just have kobe doing all the work ala 50pt game but a loss

Unless you watch a lot of Heat games, your going by years past defending Shaq. Yes, they still pay attention to him, but they allow him to go one on one more often then not now. Wade is the one that gets the double teams, and has to play through them. Everyone keeps saying that Shaq gets the double and triple teams, but not this year. He does once in awhile, but Wade gets more attention then him now. Teams want to see if Shaq can still beat them, and right now he is very inconsistant, so I don't see the defenses changing unless he gets back 100%.

I didn't watch many many games but the games I saw, Shaq wasn't injured (at least was on court) and he still was the one they worried more about although off course they would just forget about Wade. In the games I watched, they main worry of defense was still to avoid that the ball goes inside to shaq in a good position. But of course that Shaq is playing less and less. I just think that sharing attentions with Shaq, rules Wade out of the running, fair or unfair.

That's really like everyone said Kobe couldn't do it without Shaq....well I think Kobe's showed he could. Atleast Wade is getting the attention from all the media, and the league right now, the one's who really matter. If fans picked who is MVP...the real winner wouldn't be the one deserving.

Kobr showed he could win a championship or close without Shaq? I wonder when. He showed he is an amazing player but most people knew that already.
