Probably there's no other player in the league as important to it's team than Kobe. If kobe was out the whole season, I doubt the Lakers could get 15 wins. That's why right now, Kobe would have my vote for MVP. For that reason and because he is standing out above every other player this season. I think LeBron is the most complete player in the league but until he is able to consistently take over games in the 4th qtr and make those winning shots, Kobe is above him.

Yeah the same goes for the other teams.
Even the deep Mavs, take out Dirk and they lose most of their games. Or the great Spurs without Duncan are an average team.
I just think that no other team is so dependent on one player this season as the lakers.

but is that really MVP worth material? that the structure of the Lakers is so dependant on KObe htey would get blown out w/o him? they are only 24-20 standings wise but Kobe is playing so great its ridiculous.......its just that he cant get his team together because his team either cant get into the game with him having the ball so much and they suck.......its more of the latter than the first i cant really justify an MVP if they arent winning .........

It's not just that he is the most important player to his team. It's mostly the fact that he is playing on level above everyone else and believe it or not, no one was betting the Lakers would be this well even if it's just 24-20. They are having a succefull season considering the realistic expectations. So they are winning.
I know the top players of the top teams are the ones that get the MVP but I don't think that's always fair. I mean, I would understand Billups getting it but it would be kind of weird to see him get over a Kobe or a LeBron.
Funny thing is, if you told me one year ago I would be argueing that Kobe should get a MVP, I wouldn't believe you.

lakers are like 19-11 in their first 30 games. They have been getting better as season is going on

If the lakers make the playoffs then Kobe is the MVP
