if george is nixing the trade b/c he will lose his bird rights (and i guess, therefore his ability to make more money)......george is delusional....
even without his bird rights, he can sign for with a team using one of the available exceptions....which will net him between 2 and 5.5 million a year.....
if george thinks he can sign for more than 5.5 with a team next year, he is crazy...

The problem is that teams no longer use the Mid Level exception due to penalties that come with it. So George wants to insist that the Nets see him in there future, because if not then he has no chance at getting any real money. As you know, there are no penalties when signing guys with Bird rights. So Dallas would be more prone to just resign George, then to spend money they don't have on a backup SF in the offseason. In the best interest of his self, I think he is doing the right thing.

Bringing a sure thing when it comes to leadership and wins can never be a bad deal. Sure that Harris can become really good although he isn't the play-making kind of PG I like and that Kidd is on his last couple of seasons in the league but a trade for Jason "I can make any team work even team USA" Kidd is hardly a bad trade. Of course, I'm a big Jason Kidd fan so I can see others not agreeing but there's a reason I like Jason Kidd and that's because he brings much more than stats to his teams. Dallas will miss Stackhouse and Diop but if they were thought to be a top team in the West, they sure are more favourites after this one at least for the next couple of years. After watching Jason Kidd get ejected from Game 4 after getting punked all day by Pargo and Paul I got to say this is another solid take from Jogo.
