Yeah, I joined another league, and it is fast, but it is getting old very fast as well. I feel like I am in high school with all the bullshit going on, on the boards, kind of lame. -661 So people hate you here too?

Can we all agree at the very least that SS is seriously retarded? If we can do that then all of this was worthwhile.

I'm sure your league is just fine.
If I do my math correct, the league has been around for 10 years. That's around 3650 days. If a season takes 10 days, heck I'll give you 20, then you are on season 182? If true, then I'm impressed and will leave this thread humbled that you could keeping same league going for 180 seasons in a row.
That record book would be insane.

Whoa...this is that shitty league Seattle Slough talks about. No wonder. No wonder what? How can you get a feel for SLOR from going to a thread that isn't on the SLOR board and very few of the SLOR Gm's post in? You can't see the slor discussion boards.

Yeah 10 years but we haven't ran continously, we've restarted twice I think both times due to corrupted file, so we are currently in our third version of BBS. I don't think the league has ever been "dead" for any significant amount of time.

Do you use real players? Create draft file yourself or use the games created class? Do you use the games exact salary cap rules or add your own rules on top too? How can you turn over a season in 10 days? That doesn't seem like enough time to do draft, free agency, exhibition, reg season and playoffs? Do you keep a running hall of fame? Do you have guys writing articles and producing advanced stats?
Sorry jsav left bad taste when he joined. He's a great gm for us. But I know it can be difficult for an experienced gm to be in a new league and fit in. I would rather not have jsav be a reason for other bbs Gm's to log on to here and trash talk.

And you guys wouldn't no what to do with yourself SLOR. Best and most calculated GMs on the web. BBS is single A and SLOR is the majors. And we actually like to have intelligent conversations about our teams. And We think about our moves. Not a whole bunch of bullshit like in bbs. Hilarious

That's the thing phd, I never did anything wrong. But for some reason, I was a terrible GM with all my pick gone because of the previous GM. And this was after only 4 weeks of being in the league, and 3 seasons (yes, 3 seasons in one month lol).
SLOR>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>shitty ass BBS

J-Savage doesn't seem to understand everybody hates on everybody there. Being an arrogant asshole from the start didn't help you and winning 31 games and tanking without your picks while letting your best players walk in FA doesn't help either.

So here you have intelligent convos on why tanking without your picks is a good move?

But I know it can be difficult for an experienced gm to be in a new league and fit in. I would rather not have jsav be a reason for other bbs Gm's to log on to here and trash talk. We are currently going retro. Spencer creates all draft files. We always have a period of real players and keep up with current draft classes. Then when we get to a point where real prospects aren't plausible anymore, we allow GMs to "create prospects" by creating "fake draft profiles" in our draft forum. Spencer then takes these players, tweaks them here and there to his liking, and uses his own to his taste and after that we go retro with random years of draft classes(like we are currently doing now) Our salary cap is a minimum cap of 20-25(I forget off hand) and a "hard-cap" of 85mill. If you go over 85mill you have 48 hours to get under, if you don't get under there is a sever HC penalty in which you lose a player of Spencer's choosing, a few draft picks, and FA bids for the next 2 seasons. We don't turn over a season in 10 days... each season is about 2-3 weeks long(regular season to playoffs and not including free agency or draft) We have no hall of fame as that file got corrupted(but we have a full blown history page found here:http://bballsim56.com/BBS/History/) but yes we have many GMs who write consistent articles and have a few GMs who have developed there own stat calcuating like repole's here bbs2010.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rcs&action=display&thread=15467Also our "high-turnover" of GMs like J-Savage points out is also due to the fact that BBS has a contract year. If you go 3 years without winning 42 games, or making the playoffs you will enter your Contract Year. If you fail to make the playoffs or win 42 in the fourth season, you will be fired. So you can see why some GMs may not be cut out for BBS as you always have to be on your toes and proactive or risk being fired due to poor performances.

It's not easy inheriting a team that has either no picks or terrible contracts. Sorry jsav didn't meet your expectations. I'm glad. I want my Gm's here, not over at some other league.

I want my Gm's here, not over at some league that pumps out a new season each week. Our seasons last 2-3 weeks, and if you want to include draft and free agency period more like a month and while yes, I agree, it's not easy inheriting a team that has no picks(he had great players, on amazing contracts though, Paul Arizin being one who he let walk because he lowballed him in free agency) but he did nothing. His picks were offered back to him and he did nothing to attain them.
