Kid 22..... how do you think the Vikes are going to do? Atlanta is an interesting first game. Traveris Jackson looked decent in the preseason on short drops. He scared me on true pocket passing. A. Peterson did look excitinga and you can tell he has worked on his running style however there were multiple moments were I thought he was going to get killed. I think it is going to be a real long season and then they will call me to handle their draft day, or they could let Childress have his say and they will draft another RB.

The Vikes have the fastest qb in the league with Vick out. He could turn into a pretty good qb, but we're going to have to get him some help at receiver. I wish they would just start Peterson. Nothing against Taylor and I think he's a good back, but Peterson can be special. We're going to have to get some pressue on the Qb on the defensive side of the ball. We are to defensive ends as Detroit is to wide receivers...except Detroit drafts a good wr now and then. If we lose to Atlanta, its going to be a long year. I think Atlanta will be better than most people think they are going to be however...but we have to get off to a good start. We're going to be a very boring, football team trying to win the battle of field position and let our defense win games for us. As long as we don't ask Tavaris Jackson to win games for us, I think this team will be fine.

I think that if this was college Jackson's speed would mean more to me but being the fastest QB in the league isnt going to win ball games for us... JIMMY KLEINSASSER deserves better than this!!!

Still want Quinn over Peterson? Yes, Traveris Jackson still is not looking like an NFL QB. There is no question that Peterson is good. But he still has not made it through an entire season healthy. Atlanta showed they were as not as good as we thought they may have been. Harrington threw more TD passes for us than Jackson did.

I don't think there's a Vikings fan out there that wouldn't want Moss back right now. We didn't want him traded him the first place. I'm not planning on the Superbowl this season, I just want to see some steps in the right direction. Jackson still didn't look bad. Again, we're not asking him to be John Elway. We're going to have to prove that we can throw it downfield eventually or teams are going to stack the line of scrimmage and take away the run. Our defense looked impressive yesterday regardless of who we were playing against. We'll find out a lot more about this defense next week.

Moss proved in Oakland why he was traded...he's a fairweather player. He only gives an effort if he wants, and if he isn't on a very good to great team, he's just not going to work. He came into the league on a great team (98 Vikings) and didn't start to "give up" consistently until the Vikes went from perennial contenders to miserable in 2001. I still wish they hadn't traded him, but if he would have stayed he would not have put up big numbers the last two years because the Vikings just weren't good.
Now, he's on a great team, and he is going to try and that spells trouble for all the other teams in the league.
I pushed for Peterson on draft day and yesterday you saw why. He's pretty good. Quinn? Nah...I don't think so, how much better than Jackson will he be? It will take a few years to figure that out at least because the Browns are horrible.

Well, we did everything we could to give that game away and were successful. We have to get a passing game going. Detroit didn't even bother running on us...a formula I'm sure we'll see again.

I did not get to see it I will have to watch it on NFL channel replay if they show it one overnight....... but boy the stats looked rough.... Did T Jackson play that poorly or do his stats look worse than what he played..... on a positive note.... Peterson has now played in two games in a row with out a major injury

It was a very sloppy game. Jackson played like a young Qb typically does (not good). We have absolutely no downfield passing game. Our runningbacks are our best receivers and you could tell Detroit was daring us to throw it deep. We should have taken over the game when John Kittens was hurt, but we had the complete and total inability to do so. Next week is going to be a painfully boring game when the Chiefs (whose offense also stinks) will go up against our offense outdoors.

Is that really Tavaris Jackson? If we actually have a passing game, this could be an interesting playoff run

if the vikings had a passing game(175+ YPG) this team would be up there with Dallas and GB as the best in the NFC

gotta love the Vikings... turn a #7 overall pick into a 6th round pick.... I hate how the Vikes draft... I still am not in love with the A Peterson pick.... if he can play a whole season next year I may be proven wrong.... fricken tools... I hope this is 'Mr. Noodles' last season

I still am not in love with the A Peterson pick Are you kidding? You either have to be or are in blind love with Brady Quinn. I think if Williamson had a decent qb to throw him the ball, he would have been a little better off. Speed is his biggest asset and with soft tossing Brad Johnson and Tavaris Jackson, there was no way for him to utilize it. Was he worth a 7th overall? No...but he could have been better. All that said, we have to get a Qb. By the time Jackson is "ready", our defense will be old and we'll have to rebuild it. After watching the end of last year, I'm not sure Jackson will ever be "ready". He showed some promise, but he threw some of the worst passes I've ever seen a quarterback ever throw. After having two circus ringleaders as head coach, the Vikings had to bring in a disciplinarian in like "Mr. Noodle". He's definately putting a lot of faith in a really bad quarterback situation. If we can get Anderson, McNabb, or even someone halfway decent that can manage a game, the Vikings will be a top 4 team in the NFC. If not...then I guess Childress made his own bed and will have to live with his decisions...which will probably cost him his head coaching job.
