Yeah, Alex Smith is just bad. You know that there is no 49er reciever in the top 70 in recieving yards? Pathetic. Plus did you see Young and Jaws clowning on Smith in a PC way.? Hilarious. So the question might be now who is the worst QB bust of all time picked number one. Smith might be #1. (Ryan Leaf was picked #2 so he doesn't count.)

I don't see how anyone can expect Smith to do anything with that pathetic offensive line.

On draft day, if you would of picked who trading their first away next season for a current first was stupid. Hands down everyone would had said the Browns trading next years first for the Cowboys late pick to get Brady Quinn. Everyone thought the 49ers move was safe, and they would be atleast .500. But it's the opposite! The browns will probably win 8 games this year, and I only see the 49ers winning one more game this year, and thats if Bulger and the Rams don't get healthy before they play again.

The average age of the Patriots defense is about 75 so they need a young defensive stud for when the brittle old men break down, which should be any week now.

Waldo one problem, the only part of the Pats D that is old is the linebacker core, but good try.

I don't see how anyone can expect Smith to do anything with that pathetic offensive line. I agree with Stork here. However, I think you guys are killing a potentially good QB by having him get hammered every Sunday. You guys are doing what the Texans did to David Carr, and you see what happened to him

You guys are doing what the Texans did to David Carr, and you see what happened to him Definitely true, the 49ers fell for the old misconception that you need a good QB then build around him. I think the opposite is true, you build a good O-line to protect your QB and give your running back holes to run through, then you build a good D, THEN you can worry about your quarterback. We've seen time and time again that teams can do great with mediocre QBs if they have good play everywhere else. I've never once seen a good QB turn a shitty team into a playoff team by himself. I said it then and I'll say it now, Niners should have drafted Braylon Edwards with that pick. But I'm still not ready to give up on Alex Smith in his 3rd year with no one around him.
