* = I don't like to follow the rules.
I hear there is a juicing party after the game at Barry's place.
Save a syringe for me.

I don't follow the story that closely but seems to me like it's quite a little bit of envy. If people are sure he took stuff, he should have been thrown out. He wasn't so he they must not be. Fact is roids or no roids he keeps hitting homeruns at a good pace so he got the record and people shouldn't diminuish that. End of Story.
And even if Barry did it, who's to say for example Hank didn't?

I don't follow the story that closely but seems to me like it's quite a little bit of envy. If people are sure he took stuff, he should have been thrown out. He wasn't so he they must not be. Fact is roids or no roids he keeps hitting homeruns at a good pace so he got the record and people shouldn't diminuish that. End of Story. And even if Barry did it, who's to say for example Hank didn't? The stats pretty much speak for themselves. Hank Aaron never had a slugging percentage higher than .669 in any year of his career. Likewise, in 14 seasons prior to 1999, Barry never had a slugging percentage of higher than .677. Then at the age of 35 (when he was 109 HR's behind Aaron at 35 years old) he broke his previous slugging high with a .688. Good for him, right? A 35 year old man posting an awesome year like that was pretty cool... until we see what followed. Bonds then followed that year with an .863 SLG, followed by a .799, followed by a ,749, followed by an .812. During the same time frame in Aaron's career, Hank averaged .599 SLG. If Aaron was taking steroids, then he was taking him during his entire career, as there's no place in his career where there's in indication of a massive performance change, which there is in Bonds, and at an age when baseball players skills decline, not develop. Fact is only 26.6% of Aaron's HR occured in the last 7 years of his 23 year career (from age 36 and beyond). That rate is not unprecendented. Other people's careers have had similiar performance. Compare that to Bonds where 41.1% of Barry's HR occured in the last 8 years of his 22 year career (from age 36 and beyond) including one season where he only got 42 at bats. That kind of performance is unprecedented. The words "good pace" belong to Aaron. He hit them consistently through out his career. It's when Barry at age 35 found himself 109 HR's behind the "good pace" that he Barry did "something". Barry then went through a baseball skills development that is unprecedented in the 131 year history of professional baseball for a 36 year old. His face also blew up like a baloon at the same time, but that's not a discussion of the stats.

So how many homers did Barry hit because of steroids?

Let's give Barry some credit. At least he Knew how to take full advantage of steroids. Some idiots out there wouldn't know how to and balloon themselves. They think sticking a needle up there ass and moderate work out is enough...but even with roids, you still have to be in that weight room at least 5 times a week to take full usage out of it.

All I know is if he didn't take roids, why is his trainer still in jail for the past year because he won't testify that bonds didn't use roids. If he is absolutely innocent and his trainer would know whether he took roids, he wouldn't sit in jail for a year to not tell the courts bonds didn't take steroids. Thats a proven fact that he must have done something, cause who would sit in jail for that? Anyways, I think that the truth will come out in awhile, but bonds will be retired. Maybe him and Vick can share a cell together, talk about the good times,lol.

Barry Bonds even said, "I didn't know they were steroids."

He took steroids. That's pretty much proven by anyone that isn't an idiot.
But so did everyone else in the era.

true, but the problem is, no one really broke records but bonds.

true, but the problem is, no one really broke records but bonds. Yeah, because all the pitching records that Clemens would have broken were already set in the dead-ball era. BTW, Hank Aaron's generation was famous for using amphetamines, or "greenies." But that's an OK drug to use because it isn't sensationalized by the media. Every era had it's problems; baseball not wound tight enough, too high of a mount, spitballs, greenies, cocaine, parks too big, parks too small, steroids, etc. Just because Barry's record came in the age of intrusive media doesn't mean that it's "tainted."

if he is caught, do you think he will go to the HOF still? If they don't let Rose in, its kind of hard for them to let bonds in, if he is caught of course.

He is HOF worthy based entirely on his pre-roid stats, and the only member of the 500/500 club - only 3 others have 300/300. Throw in his 8 gold gloves and he's a shoe-in.
