My favorite player and I think would have been the greatest is my boy Griffey Jr. He's a beast. Home Runs RBI stolen bases gold gloves. Too bad injuries plagued him.

I used to think Babe Ruth until I found out ground rule doubles counted as homers for much of his career.
Barry is the best all-around player ever.

Do not ever put OJ, Vick, and Pacman in the samn discussion with Barry. With those guys, harmed other people and animals (I still don't think OJ did it, but I'll include him for the sake of argument because most people believed he killed his ex and her booty call). I really think it's sickening how people have come down on him. Barry never harmed anyone, or did anything that merits what people are saying and doing to him. OK, he was an asshole, but who doesn't know an asshole. Barry was a man who didn't cater to anyone because that was the type of person he was, and people did not like that from a superstar. Barry was a defiant african american which is not widely accepted in america. This situation reminds me of Muhammed Ali in the 60s. Muhammed Ali, like Barry, was the greatest of his time, and changed the sport forever. But what america didn't appreciate was that he was a man who did not care what people thought about him, and he knew that he was the greatest and let people know it, like Barry. Ali was looked down upon more because of his activism and religious beliefs, so I don't mean it in that sense, but fact is forces were out there to bring him down because of the type of people they were, but were the greatest athlete of their time, and were black, knew that they were good, were considered assholes, and did not care what the mainstream thought about them. So this bring up the question, for the people who are reading this post. What has Barry ever done for you to dislike him so much? Because he was an asshole? Because he was so good at what he did? Because he knew that he was the greatest, and he let people, and his teammates, know, and demand the respect that comes with being the greatest of all time? Babe Ruth had the respect. Micheal Jordan did. Joe Montana did. But the difference is that they were humble, nice and we tend to root and want our heroes to be like them. All Barry wanted to do was play baseball. Was anything wrong with that? Of course he could of been a nicer guy, but do you crucify a man for being true to who he is? The media did. And you did. To the point that you wanted to find anything to persecute him, like Muhammed Ali. Doing steriods was a decision that he made, and he is the one that has to live with that decision, if he did knowingly do steriods. But did what he did harm anyone in the process? In a era of baseball that was led by corrupt and money hungry men and athletes that drove the sport in the ground because of the failure of the leadership, this will be a dark history because of that and they should be the one to blame for this. Bud Selig let this go on the fatten up the pockets of his money hungry owners, and Donald Fehr let the money from his greedy athletes speak to him, rather than do what is right for the sport. Barry saw this go on, and was driven to this because of the demand of the sport and his place in history. It was never about the money for him. You never heard Barry complain about money, want to do all the endoremenst, and not play the game. He played hard, and was the great player that you ever seen, steroids or not. So before you crucify the man, think about why the hatred. Barry never did anything to you, he just wanted to play baseball, and nothing else.

Save a hoe Griffey was the best of his time if Bond's didn't juice. Griffey was in the same situation an African American and he didn't juice don't make excuses. He did what he did, Griffey without injury would have hit 800, WITH NO ROIDS. How is Bonds better?

If Len Bias didn't die before he played a game in the NBA he would have scored 50,000 points and had 10 straight championships.
He is the best basketball player of all time.

He did what he did, Griffey without injury would have hit 800, WITH NO ROIDS. How is Bonds better? First of all, you have to earn the right to call me save a hoe. And second, you missed my whole point. What you just said makes no sense to my argument. I'm not making excuses for him because he was african american. I'm saying that in history, defiant african americans has been no widely accepted in mainstream society. And it is not the reason for all what is going, but it is a part of the hatred for him for some people which is sad. I'm sure xxballin, that you're a good guy and look at people and not the color of a person to judge a man, like myself, but you would be naive that race doesn't have a little to do with the witch hunt for Bonds. I love Griffey, and he is one of my favorite players of all time, so I would agree with you, but shit happens, and it sucks about his injuries. But I would be the first one to say I believe Griffey didn't juice, but you can't be sure of that because of the policies of the MLB. If there was steroid testing in baseball in the past, none of this would of happened, and what he did was not against the rules, and most of the players was using it, but he still was far and above the best player in the leagure, regardless of steroids. So was what he did so bad if that was the situation, and he was so talented anyways, Barry would be putting up similar numbers, and would of broken the record anyways? You guys hate him so much, that you forget that he was always a homerun hitting player, and refuse to believe that he would have broken the record, if he wasn't on steroids.

Barry's always acted like he knew he was the greatest and let people know it... but he was great because he was on steroids.
