missing out on 2 months of a 6 month season doesn't blow that much for a pitcher with a sub 2.00 ERA

Why wouldn't he?
You really think he's going to go from the best pitcher in the league to absolute shit? If he plays I think he'll be a superstar pitcher, but the only question is: If/When is he coming back?

We can't let a little thing called logic get involved John. c'mon hah - oops, didn't see that you already said that he had a sub 2.00 ERA last season. but if i recall, he had this soap opera going on last season where he might come back...he might not. obviously it didn't last as long, but in february, i remember it wasn't 100% settled and it didn't seem like his heart was in it. but jeez...from start to finish, his performance certainly proved it was.

well this season he doesnt get to pitch the whole year, and last season he showed that he isnt young anymore when he got injured in the playoff due to wear and tare, why would he want to go thro that again and not be 100% in the playoff?

Wow, its about time the fucking cy young winner and my number 1 pick finally gets a win after 4 starts. Just so happens its against the Royals. Santana usually has better 2nd halfs. His last 2 starts were quality and he looks to be back to his old self.
