I'm such a homer that I originally picked the Celtics to beat the Lakers in 7 in the prediction poll that Jogo set up a few weeks ago. If I could change it now I would say Lakers in 6.
The Celtics are not getting the same production out of their bench that they were getting in the regular season and the Celtics bench is the reason why I picked them in the first place. Part of that is another big reason why I think the Lakers get it done this year. Phil Jackson vs Doc Rivers. Perhaps the biggest coaching mismatch in the finals of all-time.

Pistons fan here and I may be a little bitter but I think Lakers will take care of business handily.
I was gonna say LA in 5 but Lakers in 6 seems about right.

Lakers in 6, probably won't watch much of it though, but the Celtics don't have what it takes to win it all from what I've seen thus far.

Lakers in 3. They won't even need 4 games.
P.S. - I think the stupid 2-3-2 format they use in the Finals actually makes it harder for the team with the better record.

I don't need to change predictions. Lakers in 6 like originally picked before the playoffs started. www.simleagueone.com/2008Playoffs.jpgI picked the Lakers not because they have a better team but because I think Phil Jackson vs Doc Rivers in a NBA finals is not even fair.

Lakers in 5. Just because of the way the playoff system is set, it favors the lakers to win in 5. I think they will split in Boston, and the Lakers will sweep at home.
Fisher > Rondo = D fish has the experince, and Rondo can get wild with his game.
Allen > Vlad = (I'm setting it up like this, because I don't see Phil having kobe chase Ray and run off screens all series.) Vlad and Sasha did a great job on Manu, but I don't know if they keep Ray out of it. I hate Ray, but he's still a good player, who can go for 30 at any given moment
Kobe > Pierce = I think PP is going to take him self out of the game, as he did with Lebron. He doesn't have the ability to be a good defender as well as a good scorer at the same time. Kobe is the best all around player in the game and he will shutdown Pierce and still get 25+ per game
KG > Pau = This won't be as bad as Duncan owning Gasol, but it will be pretty damn close. Gasol and Odom both aren't the best defenders against good bigs. The true test will be if they crash the boards, like in game 5.
Odom > Perkins = I figure this matchup will flip flop between Gasol and Odom. I figure with Odom being a bit stronger he will play Perkins. Plus Gasol has the reach to change some of KG's shots. Perkins had one good game, but he isn't shit.
Lakers bench >Celtics bench = It all depends on what Celtics bench shows up. If House, Posey, Powe, ect can get out there and match the lakers bench, then this series will be close. But if they play like they have been, this will be how the Lakers win in 5!

Celtics, that's right, C-E-L-T-I-C-S in 7. Should be a good match up, but I've never liked the Lakers even though I think Kobe is the best player in the league.

Um if Doc Rivers just listens to me and runs a box in one against the lakers, Celtics in 5, but he won't listen, so Celtics in 7. If anybody but Kobe guards Ray allen, Ray Allen will shit on any other laker. Bring on vlad rad, pretty sure he used him in practice for many years.

I also think Celtics in 7 but for another reason. Stern will tell the officials that they will get a nice little "bonus" if the series goes 7.

Refs will try to make sure this thing goes to 7. If any team gets up 2-0 or 3-1 look for the refs to be trying their hardest to make sure the other team gets back in it.
