I like Arenas as a NBA personality. He is one of the few stars that realize they they are becoming mega rich for being able to play a game. With that said he seems to put himself on the back a lot for not taking a full max contract. He is a high volume inefficient chucker who makes little effort defensively. He could give back half of his new contract and still be overpaid. Hes going to average 18.5 million dollars a year, that extra 2-3 million a year that he "saved" the team is not any real financial flexibility.

Arenas is probably the most overated megastar in the NBA. The way the wizards actually did better when he went down with the injury last season must mean something. Not saying the Wizards are better without him but no other top 15 player in actually less valuable to his team.

According to ESPN
Elton Brand signs with the Sixers and Maggette signs with the Warriors

Clippers fans get destroyed after getting their hopes up. Warriors get a conciliatory prize for losing Brand. I'm just glad Maggette isnt joining the Celtics or Spurs.

I am so pissed Mags ain't joining the Spurs. Go to a losing team like GS who already has a jam at the 2-3 spot where Maggette plays, it doesn't make since. Whatever, screw you Maggette!

It's all about the money...
Irony would be seeing Brand asking to be traded to a winning team in a couple of years.

I respect players that chase for money
They are smart people. I teams dont really care about the players....they only care about their basketball ability. If they werent any good they would be cut and probably not even stay in contact with the player.
I sum it up, Brand = Smart, Baron = Smart

The best move thus far goes to the Magic. People will sleep on signing Pietrus, but he is a perfect fit for that Roster. If they can grab a PG, they will be set and could win the East.
PG: Nelson? SG: Pietrus SF: Lewis PF: Hedi C: Howard
Thats arguably the second best starting lineup in the East behind Boston

Hedo and Dwight are rock solid for Orlando, but Lewis was come and go all season and struggled with the 4 spot (as does Hedo), the Magic still don't have a clear-cut guy who can play the 4 spot with power. I think Boston, Philly, and maybe Detroit if they make the right moves will still be hard to beat out East, with Orlando being on the outside.

It's the East! No teams in the East have two bruising big men. Hedi is a 6'10 and plays the perimeter. So as much as he may have a tough time on some fours, they will have just as much of a tough time with Brand. Howard is the best defensive big in the NBA, and can stop any big in the East on any given night.
Howard = Brand Hedi > Dalembert
Howard > Sheed Hedi = Mcdyess
Howard < KG Hedi > Perkins
They matchup with all those teams, and hold advantages with them IMO. (Boston is the hardest matchup) Orlando's real issue is at the gurad spot, and Pietrus is a huge step up over Bogans IMO. If they can grab a PG, they will be a very nice team. (Or if Nelson can learn how to throw an entry pass to Dwight Howard)

I decided I wasn't even going to argue with anymore the minute your equations showed that McDyess was better than one of the better shot-blocking centers in the league.

I said Mcdyess is equal to Hedi? Is Hedi one of the better shot blocking centers in the league? Last time I checked he was PF first off, and secondly I don't think Turk is even in the top 20 in blocks. I'm guessing you read that wrong or something
