LOL@ Josh Howard being an oppressed millionaire sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3592734www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1llOTCAyf0Being a black man, I'm really offended by what he said. This country is not perfect, but you make millions of dollars playing basketball. Playing freaking basketball. Only in america homie. I'm not disregarding our history, but this is our country as much as anyone. So take ownership you fool, this is your country, because this country was built on the backs of millions of black folks. I lost alot of respect for Howard. In a time where a black man can become president, and this is your thinking. You're in a lost state of mind if you don't appreciate the country even with all the pitfalls for black folks, you're one of the fortunate ones to go to school, and make millions of dollars playing a kids sport and be able to support your family. Stand the freak up, put your hand over your heart, and honor your country. I would not want to be in any other country in the world. I think alot of people, and not limited to black people, need to go out the country and see how it is in the world, because there is millions of people that would love to come to this country and just get half of the opportunity that we get, and would make the most out of it. We're the only country in the world that poor folks are fat lol.

that's one of the dumbest things i've heard in a while (not your post, but what josh said). Times like this I always think of the movie The Inkwell when the one black guy says something along the lines of, "this is america. love it or leave it"

If true, Howard, needs to go play professional basketball someplace else, where he doen't feel obligated to take money from Americans. That rules out Canada, the US, and the Phillipines (there's an Alaskan-sponsored team in the Philippines), for starters.
There's a very significant middle ground to love it or leave it, though: "Fix it." If you think things are unfair, fight for positive change.

you wouldn't want to fix it if you didn't love it

That's a not a good excuse. My point is that there's starving kids in Africa that would gladly put there hands on their heart to get the opportunity he has.

Lol, I get your point. (Even if your doing too much) but many ignorant people talk without really thinking. Espicially when they are just being dumb. I've heard you say some crazy things before, the only difference is your you and he's a celebrity. It doesn't make it right, but it doesn't make me lose a wink of sleep. As for the African kids I'm not sure that they want to be americans because everyone wants to be american. They just want to have the chance to live a healthy life. I gurantee that most would prefer to do it in their native land

You think mexicans would risk their life to enter the US to live an explored life in the US if they had a little bit of hope to make a decent wage in their country? Of course not. People in central america go to the US for the same reason people in Africa go the European countries they can get in: looking for a chance to survive. People don't become immigrants because they choose to, they become immigrants because they need to. Josh is just saying shit because he didn't think about what he's saying and because he doesn't have a clue what a miserable life really is. Neither do us.
