Portland looked horrible last night. Even when Oden was playing.

good question stork, i watched most of the two games on last night and there were a lot of calls, but you know every season starts that way. They get touch on travels and putting your hands on guys out on the perimeter, but by the end of the year lebron is still able to make it from the 3tp line to the rim wihtout dribbling...

Pistons are the Pistons but I'm kind of looking forward to seeing the team under new coach Michael Curry. He's really hammering on defense. I'm also looking forward to seeing how Amir Johnson handles being a starter and of course Stuckey and Afflalo will be even better this season. The Pistons are deep.

It's really Stern's fault more than anything - and until it changes I won't be watching any NBA. The sport they play is not basketball.

Where does Kwame Brown fit into the Pistons rotation? I want to see him play again for comedy's sake.

People say Hansborough (and Kevin Love) last year got all the calls at the NCAA level as well. And in high school the good prospects get all the calls as well. So once again that leaves you with FIBA or YMCA weekenders and based on the officiating during the Olympics I have a hard time seeing how they are in any way better. In baseball veteran pitchers get the calls all of the time. Officials in the NFL get calls wrong even with instant replay. So what sports are you watching? Golf? Table tennis? Swimming?

The internet hype for Portland was out of control. The Lakers are crazy deep. Its going to be a fun season. It was one game where Portland couldn't hit a shot and L.A. was knocking down everything. A little to early to call the hype for Portland premature. I for one think Portland will make the playoffs this year.

Could Cleveland be a more boring team to watch?
Aside from LeBron, that team is so boring, occasionally you get a bucket from Gibson and Big Z, all I see are a bunch of brick shooters and has-beens (Wally and Big Ben). Too bad, cuz Bron's one of my favorite players and he's exciting to watch, but the rest of that team isn't entertaining. The Cavs have to have the worst supporting cast for a superstar I've ever seen, and this is going on like....5 years now?

If they had their A game they would have won by 40. When I say they were overhyped I'm talking more about the betting line that opened with the Lakers as 9 point favorites and tipped off as a pick em. That's a lot of wishful thinking Laker haters or homer Portland fans at work there.

I'm not "people" - I've never complained about Hansborough, Love, high school prospects, baseball umpires, NFL refs, or a table tennis match. There may be a bad call here or there in those sports, but the NBA's entire set of officials lack of common sense. They don't call traveling calls to encourage more dunking, call technicals at the first display of emotion, and call touch fouls on anyone who tries to play defense (can't have people playing hard defense, casual fans think it's boring.) The entire league is a joke. It's not basketball, it's basketball entertainment.

It's truly amazing that the Celtics, Spurs and Pistons of the last decade have won so many titles in a league filled with officials that don't allow them to play defense. Let me take wild guess... were you a Warriors fan before you decided that officials have ruined the NBA?
