Since there's just 1 team left to take, I'm going to put up this thread. This should be for draft picks and comments by the team picking, only. There should not be any reactions by other drafters in this thread, that will go on the other thread. Here is how you should post your picks: ======================================================================================= (Round #) (Picks # of Round Not Overall) Team - Position Player Name [Comments Area For Drafter] This is optional but it will make it more fun. You can talk about why you picked the player, how he fits the team, what other players you considered here, etc. ======================================================================================= Example: (1) (1) Lions - OT John Doe I picked John Doe because blah blah blah. ======================================================================================= After you pick, be sure to PM the person who drafts after you. There will be no time limit but you shouldn't hold up the draft for too long. This is just a mock draft after all. Here's the list so far: thebiz - Seahawks, Cardinals, Rams padresdominates - Chargers, Steelers, Colts db25 - Lions, Jets, Jaguars savojah - Raiders, Ravens, Saints Tom Kelly - Vikings colek2315 - Browns, Bears, Falcons Steve - Eagles, Broncos, Dolphins lilsims03 - Chiefs, 49ers, Patriots, Buccaneers cupcrazy01 - Bills, Cowboys rogworld1991 - Bengals, Packers, Texans sativa417 - Titans jellis - Giants, Panthers, Redskins

(1) (1) Lions - OT Eugene Monroe
The Lions have needs all over and it starts with the O-Line. Here I'll take the Virginia Tackle. He's the best pass protector, has great feet and played in a pro style offense in college. This also comes from a financial stand point as signing Monroe will be easier/cheaper then drafting a QB like Stafford.
Others considered: Matthew Stafford, Aaron Curry.

(1) (2) Rams - OT Jason Smith
With Orlando Pace nearing the end of his Hall of Fame career and Alex Barron nearing free agency, the Rams are in serious need of tackle help. This is a draft that is rich with talent at that very position especially early in the draft. Smith has been rated as the top tackle prospect by many scouts and publications and makes too much sense for the Rams here.
Other Players Considered: Matthew Stafford - Marc Bulger was a mess last year, however he still has a massive contract on his side and the Rams are likely to give him another shot.
Aaron Curry - Could play ILB or OLB, both positions of need for the Rams depending on where they play Will Witherspoon. Possibly the most talented player in the draft, but OT is a more pressing need for the Rams.

(1) (3) Chiefs - ILB Aaron curry
After the Chiefs traded for Matt Cassel, they no longer needed to go after a QB. The biggest concern of the Chiefs is strengthen the defense, with this team giving up huge run games this past season, Curry seemed to be a no brainer. This team is close to last in every defensive category. Curry can learn alot from a great vet like Mike Vrable.
Other player Considered:
Micheal Crabtree - This is strictly taking the best offensive player on the board. Crabtree has the possibility to be an elite receiver, just don't think it's a glaring need for the chiefs to take with a first round pick
BJ Raji - Would had been nice to get Raji to clog up some holes in the D-Line. However grabbing an elite ILB is more important with this pick

(1) (4) Seahawks - QB Matthew Stafford
With the two "safest" tackle prospects off the board the Seahawks won't want to reach for the next tier of tackles. So at this point it's the best player available. And that player is Michael Crabtree, but with the recent signing of TJ Houshmandzadeh and Crabtree's questionable height, speed, and foot injury, the Seahawks will be cautious with the 4th overall pick and take the next best prospect in Stafford. With Matt Hasselbeck getting older and his health in doubt, Seattle will need to groom a franchise quarterback behind him, since neither Seneca Wallace nor Charlie Frye project to fit that role. Stafford will be in a nice position of getting to sit and learn from a Pro Bowl quarterback, but have enough talent that he could hold his own should he be thrust into a starting role due to injury of those ahead of him.
Other players considered: Michael Crabtree - Arguably the best prospect in this draft, regardless of his speed and height, his game film speaks for itself. But with Seattle's recent injury problems with WRs and it's signing of Houshmandzadeh, the team had freed itself up to focus on another position.
B.J. Raji - With Rocky Bernard gone Seattle is in need of a DT, and Colin Cole is not the answer. However since Seattle gave Cole starter money, they are unlikely to draft his replacement with him having taken one snap.
Andre Smith, Michael Oher - Serious questions about Smith's work ethic make him too much of a risk here. Oher is a nice story but that doesn't make him worthy of this high of a draft pick.

(1) (5) Browns - DE/OLB Everette Brown
After Aaron Curry was already taken, Browns still get a great player for their defensive line here who can play both outside LB’s and DE. Along side Kameron Wimbley, the Browns could have solid young OLBs for now and years to come.
Other players considered: Brian Orakpo - A big need for the Browns is OLB and Brian Orakpo has shown that he is fast enough and has the ability to OLB. It is also too early in the draft for this guy to go.
Michael Crabtree - Probly the best offensive lpayer in this years draft, but it is more important the Browns draft what they need instead of the best player available. Plus, you never know that fott injury will effect him.

(1) (6) Bengals - WR Michael Crabtree
With Chad Johnson not looking himself, and TJ signing with the Seahawks, they Bengals don't the depth at receiver they once had. So they take the best player available, and mabee the best player in the draft in Crabtree.
Other Players Considered Brian Orakpo- The Bengals always have a terrible defense, and Orakpo would give them a play making linebacker that could give them some big players in games.
Knowshon Moreno Another big weakness was running back this year, and I just don't think Benson will do it. Moreno is an explosive back and could give Palmer another option to throw to out of the backfield.
Jeremy Maclin Just think they need a receiver, and with questions about Crabtree's foot, I though the next best player, but I think Michael's foot will OK

(1) (7) Raiders - OT Andre Smith
With Crabtree gone, and a big need on the O-Line, the Raiders will go with Andre Smith. Before all you naysayers out there wonder why the Raiders didn't select Maclin, let me explain. Smith was pretty much the #1 prospect at lineman due to his is great strength, athleticism, and size. But with the latest events questioning his character and work ethic, really hampered his draft status, and why he fell to the Raiders. If you watched alot of Raider games last season, you would of saw that Kwame Harris, the starting LT was a liability out there, and led all linemen in penalties last season. So there is a glaring need to build up the O-Line to protect Russell. If Crabtree was here, then we would of took him, because is a rare talent that Russell could of used. But with him gone, and no other wide receiver worth taking at this spot, you have to go with Smith. Right now, his ability outweighs his questionable character.
Other Player Considered:
Jeremy Maclin
Great athlete, and can do alot. But with having McFadden, who is kinda like the same player, who can do alot of things with his athleticism, but at running back, there is no need to go after Maclin. Raiders need a pure receiver, and Crabtree was the only one that the Raiders would of took at 7. Going to go after a receiver later on in the draft, but for now, Raiders need is to build up the O-line.

(1) (8) Jaguars - OT Michael Oher
The jags line struggled bad last season. OT was a serious problem Khalif Barnes is too inconsistent and there was no plan B after Collier was shot. With the other Tackles gone, Oher makes sense here. He's an experienced dominant blocker.
Others considered: Jeremy Maclin - would address another serious need at WR. BJ Raji - The Jags missed Stroud last season and it showed.

(1) (9) Packers - DE/LB Brian Orakpo
The Packers had one guy over 4 sacks a game, and only two players with 3 or more. Orakpo is a quick athletic DE and has a nack at getting to the quarterback. He's also a nice run stuffer if needed there. Very versaitle can play some linebacker as well.
Other Considerations: Brandon Pettigrew: Packers didn't have a huge threat at TE and Pettigrew is a great blocker and an even better reciever.
B.J. Raji: D-Line seemed like the biggest weakness, so this was the next best player there.

(1) (10) 49ers - WR Jeremy Maclin
This honestly was a very tough pick to make, but with Smith being taken by the Raiders it put us in a corner. Maclin can be an instant impact receiver, based purely on his hands and speed. The only way this pick is successful is if the 49ers can trade for a guy like Derek Anderson from the browns. But the 49ers have a very under rated defense, and with a solid offense they can win the NFC West. A healthy Gore, can make the difference from being a 7 win team, to a 9 win team.
Other players considered:
Mark Sanchez - Sanchez is a very good young QB, given the time to grow. The 49ers made the mistake of thrusting Alex Smith into a starting role, and killed his career. However this team has been rebuilding since Steve Young left, and the fans are tired of it. So bringing in another unproven QB is not the answer.

(1) (11) Buffalo Bills - DE Aaron Maybin, Penn St.
--The Bills had only 24 sacks for the ENTIRE SEASON last year and no one on the roster had more than 4 sacks, something Joey Porter did by himself in a single game last season. Maybin is the best of the bunch left on the board, chosen here over Tyson Jackson of LSU because of his collegiate production (12 sacks last year compared to Jackson's 3.5) as more of a pure pass rusher. He has good size (6'4") and has reportedly added 20+ lbs of muscle during this offseason.
The ideal situation would be for the Bills to try and trade down to another team trying to get QB Mark Sanchez, but if nothing can be done, taking Maybin is the best pick for a team that desperately needs help rushing the quarterback.
The Bills made a significant upgrade in their offense by signing WR Terrell Owens, but if the pass rush doesn't get any better, Bills fans can forget about the playoffs. In a much-improved AFC East, the Bills need to be able to pressure QBs Tom Brady, Chad Pennington and whoever the Jets are going to put under center.
Other Players Considered: DE Tyson Jackson, LSU (only 3.5 sacks last year, down from 8.5 his sophomore year), Rey Maualuga, LB, USC (love his game but the position need at DE is too great), Brian Cushing, LB, USC, Brandon Pettigrew, TE, Oklahoma State (too high to draft a TE since Oklahoma's Jermaine Gresham decided to stay in school).
