AI is a bitch, he has shut himself down for the rest of the season for his back................... more like his ego!!!!!!!!!!! Dude thinks he is still 25 and can carry a team. He is selfish, and cannot carry a team anymore. He doesn't play D, and doesn't make guys around him better. I hope that no title contending team picks him up next season, because he has turned into a cancer.

so if he thought he was 25, wouldn't he be trying to play through the pain like he has his entire career instead of actually shutting it down when he should have numerous times?

He isn't playing because he isn't starting anymore. Have you not read the news and his recent queotes? This isn't about an injured back, it's about a bruised ego.

As a Pistons fan I was happy when the Billups/AI trade went down. One, they were setting themselves up financially for FA in the next couple seasons and two, they got a superstar in return that shouldn't cause the winning ways us fans are used to, to be any different...for this season.
Damn, that backfired from that aspect..lol. The rookie HC seems lost and the chemistry this team was known for went out the door with Billups. Oh well, can still be a player in FA in the next couple seasons once Sheed/AI etc. come off the books.
AI preached how he was a "team player" when he got here, then skipped a practice over Thanksgiving and then this whole debacle. I have to agree with you lilsims..

He's skipped practice his whole career.
As a Sixers fan, I was shocked when I heard he was out the first time. While AI may be a lot of things, many of them negative, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt here - he has never been afraid to play hurt. Practice hurt (or well) is another matter.
I suspect he's having extreme trouble making the transition to role/bench player, but I'm still willing to think that's he's actually hurt & that his body isn't what it once was. He got beat up as much as anyone in the game, and more relative to his size.
