my TV shows of choice each week......in some sort of order, but not exact....
--Lost --Chuck --How I met your mother --Big bang theory --Office --Earl --30 rock --heroes (which has really fallen off the cliff for me) --scrubs --better off ted
as for south park, I got more than my fill of that in college and can't stand it anymore because of it....which kindof pisses me off, but whatever....same goes for simpsons and family guy.........idiots in dorm rooms with every episode on their computer can really run those cartoon shows into the ground by playing them way too much.....

I watch a lot of TV on DVD, so I have some favorites.
Scrubs- Great comedy and overall a very strong series. The early seasons are terrific and there aren't too many shows that can walk that fine line between comedy and drama like Scrubs can. With that said, season 5 was probably the last decent season and although Bill Lawrence claimed that this season was going to be like "old" Scrubs, I think it has been a disappointment overall. The season got off to a good start but it really hasn't been able to capture the old magic it once had. I think part of the reason why is they have put more emphasis on the minor characters which has taken away from the major characters (JD, Turk, Elliot, Cox, Carla, Kelso).
24- Great show obviously and I'm glad that Season 7 has been strong so far. I think adding Renee was a good move and I like how the show has used Tony this season. I think the last few episodes of the season are going to be very good.
Prison Break- The first season was probably the best season of television I've ever seen. Unfortunately, there really isn't much room for creativity after the guys break out of prison. The show is still enjoyable to watch for me but I can't honestly call it one of the best shows on television anymore. I feel like this show should have only been 1-2 seasons.
The Office- Was my favorite show for a long time. The show has gone downhill a bit after season 3 though. It still is a very funny show (the Superbowl episode was well done) but I'm definitely a little worried about the direction it is heading in. The show usually ends its seasons on a strong note so we'll see what happens in the last episodes.
Bones- Great show that I recently got into. I'm only a couple of episodes into season 4 right now and I can honestly say the show has been terrific all the way through. Bones has comedy, action, character development, etc. This show really doesn't lack anything. I'm very glad I gave this show a chance because it didn't look like the type of show that I could get into.
How I Met Your Mother- My favorite show overall right now. Seasons 1-3 were all great and although season 4 hasn't been that good, it still is ahead of almost every other comedy out there. The writers are smart and they reward loyal viewers with constant references to other episodes. Barney Stinson is probably one of the best TV characters of all time and the whole ensemble overall is top-notch. The show sticks to what it is good at but isn't afraid to try new things out at the same time.
Entourage- Not on right now but season 6 will be back this summer. No one is going to mistake this show for a masterpiece but it is so damn entertaining. Jeremy Piven really makes this show great and Ari Gold is definitely one of the best characters you will see on TV. Season 5 was pretty strong and we got to finally see some character development out of Vinny Chase. Really like how they ended the season and looking forward to season 6.

If you're not watching Breaking Bad you're really missing out.
Rescue Me is also having a great season, and Krod Mandoon is pretty funny.

I'm glad there's so many HIMYM fans out there. It's probably my favorite comedy (maybe even show) of all-time right now.
I gave up on Heroes this season as well. I watched the first 4 episodes at the beginning of the year and I just couldn't stomach it anymore. I don't know if I'll even bother trying to catch up.
I'm probably going to spend some time over the summer watching the early seasons of Scrubs. I've been told that those made the show NBC's best comedy back in the day as well.
I'm looking forward to Entourage, Monk, and Psych starting up again this summer. Even though the past seasons of Entourage and Monk weren't that great, they are still a really entertaining show to watch. And we finally get to find out about Trudy's death on Monk.

Great lists from everyone. HIMYM is great, definitely one of my favorites. I'm surprised more hasn't been said about The Big Bang Theory though. It's a great complement to HIMYM, and Jim Parsons is great as Sheldon.
I highly recommend watching the first few seasons of Scrubs if you haven't also. That was my favorite comedy on TV for several years, although it has definitely slipped a bit recently. The Office, Entourage, and Conan are some of my other favorites, pretty much like everyone else here.
Comedies aside, my favorite show by far on TV right now (and possibly of all-time) is LOST. I love sci-fi and this fits right in with my own personal favorites like Star Trek: TNG and Land of the Lost. Can't wait to see what Season 6 has in store.
Oh, and one other favorite no one has really mentioned is the Real World/Road Rules Challenge on MTV. That show is spectacular, and like Bill Simmons says, it should be considered one of the 4 major sports.

NCIS and Criminal Minds have had solid seasons. I think Criminal Minds had one of their best episodes ever this season. I think NCIS is the best crime show on TV now. It really has the best mix of action, humor, and interesting cases. Yeah, I'm with you on those 2. And yeah, Prison Break has probably one of the best seasons ever.

"Prison Break" is the show that helped me get back into watching TV shows. The first two seasons of that show were awesome. I'm with bball that Season one is the best season of TV I've ever seen.
I will probably be watching "Breaking Bad" this summer.

Love how they ended Scrubs last night.
Really hope they don't keep the show going because that end was as close to perfect as you can get in my opinion.

Pretty much Lost and House. Watch others but these 2 I watch as soon as they get out.
I know most people fell House is always the same thing and can't say it isn't but I love the humor. Medically wise it's ok but borderline boring but the psicology and the sarcasm in every episode is just amazing imo . House is my idol lol

Last night episode of Lost was probably the best in a long time. Can we finally see who the hell is Jacob?

Last night episode of Lost was probably the best in a long time. Can we finally see who the hell is Jacob? Well Jacob has been using Christian as his vessel to John right? Maybe it is Christian? Or maybe it's been Richard all along, I mean Richard never seems to age and he hasn't traveled through time. He's always been there.
