He gonna have to fight Pretty Boy Floyd before I crown him the best right now. Mayweather is the greatest right now IMO, and he will definitely come back for this fight, which would be the greatest fight in recent memory.

Mayweather would get DOMINATED. Pac Man did more damage against Hatton in two rounds then Mayweather did in ten.

So I guess how they match up together has no relationship WHATSOEVER between how they have fared in their most recent matches against common opponents. LOL

It's a toss-up fight. Floyd would have the size, strength and defensive advantage, and the quickness and hand speed is basically a wash. Pac of course has the punching power advantage, and with his hand speed, he could hurt Mayweather. Let's not forget Judah was up 3-1 in rounds on Floyd with a knockdown that wasn't counted, and Pac has it all together in his head, unlike Judah, and is a better fighter who doesn't lose it mentally in a fight or tire down the stretch.
Basically, it's THE fight boxing needs. But I'll take Pac-Cotto if Mayweather refuses to help make Bob Arum money...negotiations for Pac-Mayweather will be incredibly difficult (what is the purse split?, who's the attraction?, and of course the PBF-Arum feud, et al)

Styles make fights, and Hatton has a FAAAR different style than Mayweather does. Same with Pacquiao. So I guess you're saying if Mayweather soundly beats Marquez, then Mayweather will DOMINATE Pacquiao? Since Pacquiao was only able to muster a draw and a split decision vs Marquez.

There is a big gap between being meaningless and being the only thing that matters.

Styles make fights; looking at common opponents must be done with that in mind. David Diaz, Hatton and that version of DLH were tailor-made for Pacquiao...Marquez, not so much. Mayweather, definitely not. Mayweather shouldn't have too many problems with Marquez. He's bigger, stronger, faster and quicker. Oh, and, by a nose, technically superior. He signed to fight Marquez because he knows he has all these advantages. Marquez has fought twice in his life above 130--two fights at 135--and this fight will be at 143-144ish. He's 36 years old. It's a formula for success for Mayweather, who is so talented that he doesn't need all these advantages, has them anyway in this particular fight. It should be competitive for a while, but Mayweather will dominate the second half of the fight (this is his MO), and win a clear decision.

This is just a payday for Marquez. Mayweather is just getting a fight in before Paciquio. That's the only reason he's coming back is because of the possibilities of being considered for sure one of the greatest of all time, and getting paid in the next few fights for him. Mayweather Pacuquio 1 is gonna be a huge fight, and a huge payday, and one of the most anticipated fights in recent memory. You know there will be a rematch and M-P 2 will be huge too, since I think the first one will be a very good fight. So a chance to cement himself as one of the greatest of all time, and two huge paydays is way too much to Floyd to turn his back on.
