b/c the jets did so awesome last year... So your comparing the Jets offense and Defense to the Vikings? 1. The Vikes have the best O - Line in football. Farve will not see the amount of pressure he saw last season 2. The Vikes have the best running back in the NFL. This will take tons of pressure off of Farve, because teams will have to play a much honest defense, then they would against the Jets. Linebackers can't drop back in coverage, so that will leave the secondary on an island. Not to mention Farve will only be asked to make 15 -20 throws a game. 3. The Vikes have some of the best specialist weapons in the NFL. Percy Harvin will run slot reverse, and end around. This will also force the Defensive Ends to stay honest when he is on the field. 4. The Vikes defense will make it so Farve will only need to control the game. The same way the Steelers rely on Big Ben to manage the game. They don't need him to win any games with his arm, just manage them and avoid costly turnovers. He won't be needed to be the "Gun slinger" He will just need to be the "Smart Vet" 5. 8 games will be played in a climate controlled dome. No violent winters, except when they travel to Green Bay and Chicago. Last year every game from October on, sucked as far as weather goes. (Well accept against Miami) The two teams, and two situations don't compare at all. Farve is in a perfect situation, that he should play very well in. I'm the biggest Seahawks fan, but even I know that the Vikes are the early favorites in the NFC.

Peterson - 1760yds, 10 tds, 21 rec, 125receiving, 9 fumbles
Thomas Jones - 1312yds, 13 tds, 36 rec, 207 receiving, 2 rec tds, 2 fumbles
Jets O-line was pretty good, and their defense wasn't that far off, plus the vikings lost one of the best centers in the game, Matt Birk. Why does everybody dismiss Birk leaving as it won't hurt. Centers are huge for calling certain plays and schemes to the line, especially a top veteran like Birk.
Don't get me wrong I love favre and he is the greatest qb I have seen in my lifetime and one of the best of all-time. But, he is old and it still takes time to learn plays and get timing down, by what happened last year, I'm not sure he can handle a full year, unless he doesn't get hit at all.

you have lost your mind...12 wins???!!! Are you forgetting the guy in the backfield the Vikings have??? They have the best running game in the league a top defense and now a great veteran QB. ACTUALLY, the best running game in the league resides in NY.

The Jets were an OK team last year, just like the Vikes. The addition of one VERY over the hill TO prone QB is not gonna make them better than the Giants, Cowboys, Eagles, Saints, Cardinals. You are out of your f'ing mind if you think the Vikings are the favorites in the NFC. Thats just retarded and you just need to turn ESPN off right now and come on back down to this place called Earth.

I like how Favre was spelled correctly about 3 out of 12 times in this thread.

Vikes have the best run game in the league. Peterson is the best back in the league.
Favre makes this team a superbowl team.
Vikes defense will do most of the work and give Favre a short field to work with.
12-4 record is my guess. Division champ and a shot at winning the superbowl. The espn guys like the move to sign Favre and they think a superbowl birth will happen. Being a Vikings fan this is our best chance at the superbowl since the 98 loss at home to the Falcons.. That game we should have won easily.
Time to buy my #4 Favre jesery!

Might want to be somewhat concerned that he has a small tear in his rotator cuff, so I very much could see a good start and implode like the Jets did last year, hope he stays healthy for your sake.

I love how Favre will not have to do much and just manage the game, b/c thats what he does. Just ask Packer fans who were at the NFC championship game a few years back.
Peterson is not the clear cut best back in the league. he had the most yards, he also carried the ball 363 times. He led RB's in fumbles too. Not to be outdone, your boy favre had 1 more than Peterson.
Peterson is that much, if any, better than Jones.
Again, Vikes dont have the best run game in the league. Sorry.
