It's funny your writing off Oden. Can you imagin never having a healthy off season to prepare for the NBA Season. Both seasons he's been injured, including going into his rookie year. He has had a whole summer at 100%, with no health issues. You can't teach 7 foot, 270 on a team where you have a 7'0 sharp shooting Power forward lineup aside of you. Aldridge is the second best big man shooter (Dirk) in the league, and he will make things so much easier on Oden. As a Laker fan, you should know better. When people wrote off Bynum and wanted to trade him for Kidd. Dude made them all eat crow!

Vince Carter as a veteran leader? Come on, everyone knows he is way overrated. The Magic were better off with Turkoglu.

Bynum was the exception, not the rule. And to be honest Bynum wasnt integral to the Lakers success. Hell, Pau Gasol made Lorenzen Wright look half decent too.
Dont get me wrong, I like Bynum and think he will end up good, but to compare the two players is not totally accurate.

The Blazers are like lesser copies of the Lakers
Roy= Kobe with weaker D Aldridge= Gasol with less post moves Oden= Bynum with less offensive skill Blake= weaker version of Fisher ( Batum= Artest minus 40 pounds of muscle

The season will tell. I think you guys are severely underestimating the depth and skill of this team though.
And if you forget, the Blazers had the Lakers number last season. There was a reason for that

The season will tell. I think you guys are severely underestimating the depth and skill of this team though. And if you forget, the Blazers had the Lakers number last season. There was a reason for that Yeah the reason was it was the regular season. Lakers vs. Trail Blazers All-Time Playoffs Series: 2002 Western Conference 1st Rd L.A. Lakers 3 - 0 Port. Trail Blazers 2001 Western Conference 1st Rd L.A. Lakers 3 - 0 Port. Trail Blazers 1900 Western Conference Finals L.A. Lakers 4 - 3 Port. Trail Blazers 1998 Western Conference 1st Rd L.A. Lakers 3 - 1 Port. Trail Blazers 1997 Western Conference 1st Rd L.A. Lakers 3 - 1 Port. Trail Blazers 1992 Western Conference 1st Rd L.A. Lakers 1 - 3 Port. Trail Blazers 1991 Western Conference Finals L.A. Lakers 4 - 2 Port. Trail Blazers 1989 Western Conference 1st Rd L.A. Lakers 3 - 0 Port. Trail Blazers 1985 Western Conference Semis L.A. Lakers 4 - 1 Port. Trail Blazers 1983 Western Conference Semis L.A. Lakers 4 - 1 Port. Trail Blazers 1977 Western Conference Finals L.A. Lakers 0 - 4 Port. Trail Blazers Depth is less important in the playoffs than the regular season because the starters play much longer.

lol, your not serious right? Your comparing different teams. I'm not comparing them. I emphasising what's important... playoff success. The Blazers won't be feared until they get out of the first round. Their depth is a tremendous asset in the regular season. in the playoffs it becomes less important.

Oden puts up 17 and 13 against Amare Amare has never been a good defender though. If he put that up against Garnett or Duncan, then I'd be impressed. I'm not sold on Oden either, I really am starting to believe he might be a bust.
