could the skins spend #4 on D if one of the top 3 picks slides down to 4 They may draft OT Russell Okung. I could see them making a serious play for Peppers and/or Dansby come Free Agency on Friday.

***ERIC BERRY*** no doubt, best player in the draft. im still pissed my Browns had to win their last four damn games just to lose any chance we had of getting him. gotta love cleveland sports....

Um Eric Berry will probably be gone by pick 6-7 at the latest. And that's why I said the Hawks could get him at pick 6. Not sure what point you were trying to make

Not sure what point you were trying to make He won't be there by pick 6 if any team that's picking in the top 5 are smart. I guess you have wishful thinking because you guys aren't getting Eric Berry unless you trade up or a team is dumb.

I personally think alot of you guys have the wrong idea about how teams pick in the draft. It isn't the NBA where you just take the best players available.
For example:
(These are just examples, not actually grades)
The Rams will value Sam Bradford as a B+ grade, more than they would a Suh, or McCoy who are listed as A grades. Each position has a rating scale, and that rating is then based off the grading curve.
However if the Lions had the first pick, they wouldn't value A QB, because it's not a need. So on there board Suh, and Mccoy are graded much higher, and remain high because there's no need for the curve based off the big board talent.
So to say that Suh, McCoy, and Berry are the top three picks and if they don't go in those picks, teams will regret it, is crazy to me. St. Louis has won less games than Indy has loss in the last two years. They need to start with a Quarterback, and if they value Bradford as B+ rated QB, why would they not take him? This is a team that isn't one player away, so signing Mcnabb does them no good, if they don't have a QB in the waiting to take over in a few seasons.
Look at last years draft.... all anyone could talk about was how highly rated Aaron Curry was, and that he would be the first pick. He however fell to pick 4, because an Outside Linebacker wasn't high on teams list. I wouldn't be shocked to see Eric berry fall to pick 6-8 (doubt he will) because Safety isn't a team's first option in a draft, because most teams picking in the top 8 have bigger holes to fill.
I just don't think it's as cut and dry as people are making it out to be. Teams have to draft based on what there team needs, not based on what Mel Kiper says are the top ten best players in the draft.

If the draft were today, I think it would go like this:
Rams: Bradford Lions: Suh Tampa Bay: McCoy Redskins: Clausen Chiefs: Okung or Berry Sea hawks: Okung or Berry
The Redskins will take Clausen IMO. They just Tendered Cambell for a first round pick, which means they are OK with him leaving. Clausen is a lot like Cutler when he came into the league, and Shannahan is going to want his own QB.

Jesus Christ if I were a rams fan/player I would shoot the owner GM if they wasted the #1 pick on Bradford. That would be fucking stupid. I dont care that they need a QB, They need everything. Suh, McCoy, Berry are >>>>>>>> Bradford in terms of what they will bring to an NFL team, regardless of what the team needs. Shitty as teams like the ones picking in the top 5 have many needs.

Pro Days's and Free Agency are still going to have a big impact on what happens with some of those top picks.
Really only "For Sure's" RIGHT NOW are the Lions and TB going defense imo.

Exaclty.............. You have to remember the list of defensive FA's out there. The Skins will pay for Aaron Kampman, Julius Peppers, Carlos Dansby, Elvis Dummerville, Antrel Rolle, Lito Shepard, and Daunte Robinson. Okung, and Claussen seem like the likely picks based on team needs at this point. However you can't really know until after FA

Cromartie just got traded to the Jets. That defensive backfield is silly. Rex Ryan is going to dominate.

Good trade for the Jets, but they have some work to do on the offensive side of the ball IMO. They need to bring in another receiver, and they have to figure out away to resign Thomas Jones. Green is an outstanding back, but I really think he needs to have Thomas Jones sharing the load with him for 16 games. Jones needs to take a pay decrease, but the Jets really need him to compliment Green.
