vince young wasn't benched because he was black so i don't know why that was even hinted at. You're talking about the franchise that had Steve McNair and Warren Moon. They benched Vince when he deserved to be benched. Just like they benched Collins when he deserved to be benched. And yes, Tebow is white, but I'd say the fact he had one of the best collegiate careers in history and played 2 hours away from jacksonville, a team with low attendance, has more to do with it than trying to replace a black QB with a white QB. If Tebow didn't play for Florida I doubt the Jags would even consider him.

I'm not sure why.
If the big reason is McNabb used to wear a different jersey, you're rooting for laundry. It's not like he's a bad person who you need to personally hate. That would be vick, haynesworth, ro a number of other types.
Personally, I like this deal. My stupid friends get what they want - McNabb gone. One guy is halfway to rooting for the eagles again, they just need to get rid of Reid, and start fresh - since he's close to , if not the absolute worst coach they've ever had.
Basically most Philadelphia Eagles fans are really, really fucking dumb.

Every one like this move for the skins but its gonna be so hard to cheer for mcnabb If we can trade campbell for some picks to make up what we gave up it could turn out pretty good Campbell is garbage, no one is going to give you much for him.

I think this is poor class from the Eagles. I have no problem with them trading him, but to a division rival? That's a low blow. Its going to be so awkward for him when he plays in Philly. I still think McNabb is a top 7 quarterback in the league and he immediately upgrades the Redskins, but I feel terrible for him. Bummer he couldn't come to Buffalo. Shut up, you have no clue what you're talking about and until you do then you can say something. He didn't want to go to garbage like Buffalo or Oakland so they did obviously care for McNabb. One of the spots he didn't mind to go to was Washington and they were the only smart team to give up a 2nd rounder. The whole league is dumb because Cutler got 2 1st rounder (I think?) and McNabb can't even garner a first round pick. Cutler was beyond terrible, too. god fucking damnit skins traded for McRibb. this is about teh worst fucking thing ever. I cant beleive im gonna have to cheer for that fat piece of shit. Ferg, I hope you're smarter than that because Campbell is a joke and now you get a legit QB after going through so many of them since Theismann. Tough to see McNabb go, but it was time. I think Kolb is going to be a pretty good QB, but that's all talk until he does it and proves himself.

Campbell will be a nice backup for McNabb when he inevitably goes down with an injury or trips on his gut. I am glad that he went to a team that equally dislike as much as the Eagles. Although i will be rooting for the Skins to skull fuck the Eagles this year, that would be hillarious.

And it's done subconsciously. And the two QBs you mentioned is a MVP and a HOFer. Black QBs gotta be great. There is no middle ground for a black QB.

Only reason there is racism, is because we still bring it up and can't get past it. Not to mention the generations are still old and the 1950's/1960's really wasn't that long ago.
Ever occur that there really isn't that many african-american QB's in college or anywhere? I guess your next response would be that they can't play there when young, because somebody is racist.
Fuck, this is bullshit, how come I never see any white guys playing running back for the NFL, why are they all blockers. Why are the only white guys in the NBA just bench sharp shooters. It goes both ways if you really look at it. I don't think anything has to do with being somebody's color really in the sports, the best guy plays I feel. Sure there is some instances, but I think mostly it is best player plays.
I love everybody, every race and don't see people by that way. I just think it is too easy to throw out the racism card.

Philly is rebuilding, and if you can't see that your crazy. This isn't a race thing, it's the same thing Green bay did with Brett Farve. They want to see what they got in there backup. They know they aren't winning a title, and they had no desire to resign Mcnab after 2010.
Trading Mcnabb to the Redskins was a favor that he asked for. He didn't want to go to the Bills, or Raiders. He wanted to remain close to Philly. The Eagles easily could had just taken the better Raider trade, if they wanted to screw him.
Look at the moves the Eagles have made in the last two seasons. Look at the veterans they have cut, what makes you say Mcnabb wasn't expendable if they have no desire to resign him, and aren't going to win? Plus don't you owe it to your fans to see what Kolb can really do, if he is the savior? Just like the Packers owed it to there fans to give Rogers a chance, before he bolted in FA or demanded a trade. I'm pretty sure Green bay would do the same thing, if given another chance

Black QBs gotta be great. There is no middle ground for a black QB. How many white quarterbacks have failed? The only reason you say that is because there aren't as many black QBs, so when they don't make it it gets put under a magnifying glass. Take RBs for instance. No one complains about black RBs being held to a different standard because most RBs are black. Some one like Akili Smith didn't get treated wrong because he was black. He got treated wrong because he sucked. Look at what happened to Brady Quinn. He didn't get to play his rookie year, then got dicked around his second year. Then traded before his third. If he was black people would be trying to say he's being held to a different standard.

Listen, I'm not calling racism. Shit, I call people out for using the race card. And with the whole white running back issue, I understand. And with that issue, I would say the same thing. And I believe all of you guys are right. Obviously, no here is stupid to let a stupid thing like race get in the way of evaluating a player. Unfortunately, a lot of people do. And a lot of those people are fans, and people making decisions.
A white running back have to be great to be one in the league. Because subconsciously, the standard for running backs is a black stud, as well as cornerback. But smart people like us can look beyond that standard, and look at his attributes, and not his race. This is the same for QB. For a lot of people, the standard for QB is a white stud. A black QB has to be great to be one in the NFL. Just as Donovan McNabb was. My only point is that it amazes me that a player as great as McNabb was not ever fully embraced in Philly, which made it easy for the front office to make this decision. If McNabb was beloved, people would be crying bloody murder about this trade. If McNabb was beloved, Reid wouldn't have been able to get away with benching him last year, even though it proved to be a good move. People call him fat because he doesn't have a typical QB body. Dude is a physical specimen. I just think there is an element to what I'm saying. I don't think race played a major role, but has an underlining tone in this because of what I just said.

He didn't get benched last year...and Philly fans treat the Phillies as good as it gets. Charlie Manuel is almost like a god down there in philly...but all the phillies get respect, I mean Lidge blew 11 saves and he didn't really get bood that badly. You guys can hate Philly fans all you want (I don't give a shit), but as long as you go all out, you get the respect of Philly. I respected McNabb, some fans didn't, but he did some weird shit over his 11 year tenure that you wouldn't know about.
