I absolutely love the Bills pick of Spiller. Obviously our huge and glaring need is offensive tackle, but when you can add a dynamic, lightning quick player who on any given play can take it to the house it's fine by me. Plus, many people don't realize that we are now a spread offense. What do you need in a spread offense? A running back who can catch the ball out of the backfield. The guy had 500 receiving yards last year at Clemson. This pretty much spells the end of Marshawn Lynch in Buffalo, and I'm fine with that - he was never great and rarely good.
Going forward in round 2, offensive tackle has to be addressed. I've watched Charles Brown at USC for a couple years and he's a stud muffin. Would love to see him drop to us.
Holler at Spiller!

Spiller is a great player and a good pick there, but the Bills dont need him, so I don't like the pick, unless they trade lynch or jackson.

Hey ,the DE the Giants picked can do standing back flips that will help the 30th ranked defense a lot, maybe he can do flips and distract Romo so that he cant throw to any of his 3 pretty decent WR's, or distract some OT so we dont get fucking bulldozed at the line of scrimmage next year.

I think Dallas got a steal with getting Dez at 24 to me if you look back at the last 2 season before last season Dez was if not the best Wr in college then he was among them....I think if he would have came out last season he would have been hands down the first wr taken....as for his issues off the field I think those were over rated and blown out a little by espn.....Go Cowboys

I love the niners two picks spent on the O-line. That was their biggest need and they addressed it in a big way. Now they have good receivers, good running game, a good line, and a good defense. All the pieces are there for Alex Smith to have a big year and lead the team to the playoffs. If they don't win the division this year then Alex Smith is officially a failure. I would have been ok with Dez Bryant with the 17 pick too - but I can't argue with Iupoti. Anthony Davis is a big motherfucker with all the talent in the world, and if anyone can beat some work ethic into you it's Mike Singletary. I expect big things from himi.
Some other notes
- Spiller at 8 is a horrible pick. Bills have Lynch and Jackson who are more than capable NFL running backs. They had many other needs.
- idk what Jacksonville is thinking with their #9 pick....the guys on the radio were saying it might be a salary cap move and that he agreed to a lower signing bonus before he was officially picked.
- Dez Bryant to the Cowboys is a great pick. Hopefully he's a bust, but I doubt it.
- Tim Tebow before Clausen or McCoy?!? wtf are you thinking McDaniels?
- Hopefully Clausen continues to slide and the niners can get him in the 2nd round...I doubt it though. I think he could be the best QB in this draft.
- I'm not too sure about the Raiders pick, but it's better than last year's so at least it's a step in the right direction.

well, i'm not excited with the titans pick.....hope he is good.....maybe we can still get haynesworth on the cheap........ if I were the titans I would have taken a cb or s.......probably kyle wilson.......finnegan is the only guy in the secondary worth a shit....even griffin now sucks.... not gonna happen... last i heard was vikes offered 2nd and 4th but DS wants more for fat Al. Cant say im happy with our pick at #4. I wanted Berry, but shanny is alot smarter then me. They had to get impact offensive T that could start right away. They need to protect McNabb as I believe there O-Line was falling apart during last year...could be wrong about that. I guess I'm okay with Graham...have heard great things about him and how he absolutely dominated the senior bowl and was the best senior there. So hopefully it works out because they passed on Earl Thomas, Derrick Morgan, and Pierre-paul...also, they need to pick Taylor Mays...that dude shouldn't be available in the 2nd round.

Somebody will trade with the Rams for Mays or Clausseen................... I'm calling it now.
My guess is that the Eagles will try and move up for Mays (especially after Dallas added Bryant) and the Raiders/Browns will try and move up for Claussen.

Don't be surprised if Seattle moves up to draft Taylor Mays. Sounds like Thomas will play CB for the Hawks, and they are intrigued in bringing Taylor Mays back to Seattle. Would be interested to see if they stay put on this one, or if the rumor is true

Not sure why people think Lynch and Jackson are capable running backs. Don't get me wrong I love what Jackson did last year behind a shotty offensive line, but he's no starting running back in the NFL. He's a backup. Lynch is awful. The guy will go 4 or 5 carries in a row gaining only 2 yards and then bust out for a 7 yard gain and call it "beast mode." He's terrible. The reason why they haven't traded him yet is because nobody wants him. The most they get for him is a 5th or 6th. That kind of trade market doesn't sound like a starting running back.
Plus, Spiller fills a need. If you look at my previous post, the Bills are now a spread offense under Chan Gailey and need a running back that can catch the ball. Lynch has concrete for hands and while Jackson caught something like 40 passes last year, he doesn't have the break away speed like a CJ Spiller.
One more thing... Clausen and McCoy are still on the board! Doesn't mean that they aren't that great? I mean come on, we are just fans who think we know a lot - the guys drafting these players clearly know way more than us. There's a reason they are still there. Would I love to see the Bills trade up and snag Clausen? Duh. But I'm not going to cry if I don't land a mediocre quarterback. I would also love to land Sergio Kindle or Charles Brown. Any four of Clausen, McCoy, Brown, or Kindle and I would consider it one of the best drafts the Bills have had in years.

Spiller is a fine player and probably better than Lynch or Jackson - but the Bills have MANY more needs that should have been addressed with a top 10 pick than to go for a position where they already have two capable players. You said yourself they have a shoddy offensive line...why not spend the pick to upgrade the line, THEN you can see how good Lynch and Jackson really are. No RB is going to be very good if he doesn't have a line to make holes for him.

Damn. I should have taken lilsims up on his RP bet.
From pft
More than twice as many people watched the NFL draft than the NBA playoffs on Thursday night.
The combined overnight rating for the first round of the draft was a 6.42, with ESPN generating a 5.47 rating and NFL Network getting 0.95. TNT got a 2.1 rating for the Chicago Bulls' NBA playoff win over the Cleveland Cavaliers and a 3.0 rating for the Oklahoma City Thunder's win over the Los Angeles Lakers.
The numbers are the latest reminder that in American sports, nothing even comes close to the NFL. That's why the NFL's decision to schedule a regular-season game at the same time as the World Series is just good business sense.
It's also why Mark Cuban's complaints about the scheduling of the draft are silly: If the NBA doesn't want to go head-to-head with the NFL draft in prime time, it should move its games to the daytime.
