the pick was a joke to begin with. I can't even remember how many times I posted on the grizz board asking for someone to tell me other than mutombo and mark eaton who came into the league with thabeet's skill set that became anything more than a role player and no one ever could. Even in college he sucked offensively and sucked at rebounding for someone his size. All he could do was block shots and that's only because college didn't have the defensive 3 second rule. I honestly don't understand how the grizz are so horrible at drafting. It's mind boggling. I don't even see most of the players play in college and I guarantee I could make better picks just off scouting reports. And that's not an exaggeration either.

I went to Hawaii the next day and it damn near ruined my trip. I left from the ATL and drove to Chattanooga to meet some friends to watch the draft and I was just telling them casually that if they picked Thabeet I was gonna lose my shit. I think they thought I was bluffing. You can imagine at like 7pm in Chattanooga, TN a lot of people have no fucking idea why there is basketball on in the summer. I acted a damn fool. The best part was that all the people who are casual basketball fans were like "who the fuck is this guy??" Gah. Oh well, big win last night coupled with the Houston loss has the Grizz almost there. Magic number at 5.

Also, Michael Jackson was so sick from the Thabeet pick that he up and fucking died.
76ers are looking pretty good. But the east is gonna be tough sledding for them. Hard to see them getting out of the 1st, but you never know.

I think Holiday has really developed into a quality player. They are 0-4 against the Heat, just have 1 win again the C's, and have 2 wins against Chicago.

Wish the Spurs would handle their shit against the Rockets. Man they are playing so bad lately. Will they fall all the way to the 3rd seed???

As a Pistons fan, what a great night. They lost to the Bulls but Rodman's jersey is in the rafters. It was a Rodmanesque ceremony but well deserved for sure.

Rodman was one of my favorite all time players. I was too young to really see him play with the Pistons, but I remember watching him with the Bulls and I was like 'This dude is LEGIT' what a great player.

First playoff win ever, couldn't have come against a bigger pack of pricks. Choke on that trade committee's dick Pop, that trade you bitched like a woman on her period about netted the Grizz Z-Bo and Marc Gasol, who just owned your ass in your buidling. About to send the Spurs out to pasture.

Also, winning by 3 is hardly "owning". By 20? That's owning. Manu comes back in Game 2. Spurs in five, which is what I said originally. Enjoy the win while it lasts, Spurs also lost Game 1 in the first round in 1999, 2003, 2005, and 2007 - what also happened that year?

Tim Duncan couldn't be guarded by Darell Author? I am not toning down anything, Popavich is a fucking douche. He went out of his way to be critical of us just b/c he couldn't handle the Lakers going out and making moves to get better, so he took out his menstrual pains on us for some reason. Nothing better than watching Marc Gasol bust out in his 1st ever playoff game by shutting down Duncan in the 4th. Then he goes in the press room and pouts like a fucking two year old. Real classy.

Hmm... Maybe because it was an awful deal that the Grizz should not have made? The Lakers have made three straight Finals as a result. The motive for the Grizz making the deal seemed to be because they wanted to start over and rid themselves of Pau's contract, but then they went ahead and made the deal for Randolph. Don't get me wrong, Randolph is a fine player and had a very impressive game today, but Pau is arguably the best player at his position right now. Gasol had a nice game but odds are he won't go 9/10 again. It's one game, you really think Pop's gonna be like "Shoot, Marc is amazing" after one game? No. And that's the way Pop is during press conferences. When reporters are asking him to "describe the way the Battier three developed?" - can you blame the guy for being a little short with the guy? Yeah, you just lost a heartbreaking game, talk about the shot that killed you seeing you weren't the one who drew it up or had anything to do with it. Grizzlies are a good team but they will not win this series. The mere fact that they tanked to get to the Spurs, then were able to shoot 55 percent to the Spurs 40 percent (Tony had an off game), as well as the Spurs not having Manu (who will be back), I think the Spurs will take this thing in 5. Max 6.` And the correct answer to my question was - they won the title those years (made a mistake about '99, they lost Game 2 and lost homecourt as a result, but they lost Game 1 in 03', 05', and 07').

Ah well, you must not have watched too many of Pau's games then, he was never gonna be a leader for us, and going forward it was stupid to pretend like he could anymore. Z-Bo is the guy we needed, and I would take Z-Bo + Marc over Pau anyday of the week.
The motive for the deal was getting rid of Pau, was his contract large? Sure, but Heisley will pay if its for the right pieces, as he proved again today, re-upping Z-Bo for 4 years/60 mill.
Grizz are a really good team, especially since the all-star break, which is crazy considering we have been without Rudy Gay and Sam Young has been starting. The way I see it is, its not likely the Spurs will get to shoot 20 FT's in any single quarter again, which is what helped them stake a lead in the 3rd. Also, running down the lane and falling is gonna get old to Tony Parker after 4-5 games. I like our chances.
Also, funny how PG's keep having off games against Mike Conley, hell Chris Paul didn't score the entire game (1st and only time in his career) in their last meeting. One of these days he might get some respect, I guess its not today.

The reason the Spurs shot 20 FTs in that quarter is because the Grizz foul a truckload. RJ, Bonner, and Dyess all got slapped in the face, and the Grizz also trip guys up on more than one occasion. Although I still think the game was over-refereed on both sides, it became sort of a field hockey game after a while. 60 combined fouls? Come on, this is the playoffs. I think Manu coming back for Game 2 will energize the Spurs, and as far as Parker falling down a lot - he has kind of done that throughout his career when going up for layups, I think it's worked out pretty well. He'll bounce back.
