You missed the point. He was being dealt b/c he cant play PG and cant guard NBA 2 guards. He wants to, and could prob start on a shitty team like Indiana, but he is not gonna log heavy minutes for the Grizz anytime soon. Therefore, getting a solid backup big in McRoberts plus a first is a good deal compared to just letting him go for nothing. Not saying I was in favor of it, but it had nothing to do with his attitude. The Grizz are super-geling as a team right now. Those other things, like I said you missed the point. If you think a college player taking benefits makes him a bad person then you don't know much about college athletics, furthermore, again, the doping thing is hilarious, you have seen OJ Mayo haven't you? I mean, its one thing when Barry Bonds swole-up head ass tries to tell us he never took roids, but come on man....OJ was not taking stuff knowingly, if so, he should get his money back. "If you think a college player taking benefits makes him a bad person then you don't know much about college athletics" - I don't get that statement at all. Are you saying that just because a lot of people do it that makes it okay, so therefore Mayo is just like all the other cheaters out there and it's no big deal? Not sure I agree with that logic, if that is in fact what you're driving at. I never said Mayo was taking roids, but it was proven he was taking an illegal drug substance of some sort that got him suspended for ten games. Given his history of being embroiled in controversy considering what happened during his college career, he doesn't have a lot of credibility for disproving that he took it not knowing he was, either.

He has not been embroiled by controversy, he was investigated for taking improper benefits. he is not a cheater, he did not point shave, he is not the Patriots filming other teams. He was a poor ass kid who had money being thrown at him like you cannot imagine. He also came from a broken family structure, his dad having been arrested this year for murder , or attempted, not sure, either way, not #1 Dad material. So I can't sit here and blame him/cast judgement on him for taking the money. I am not gonna cast him as a bad person b/c of that, maybe you can.
OJ has had a tough year no doubt, but he is not some horrible, team killer, locker room cancer. thats just crazy talk.

Look, all I'm saying is that the evidence suggests he might not be the most level-headed individual in the world. Of course I don't know the guy and I don't pretend to know his family situation growing up, but how is it "crazy talk" that he might be a possible distraction seeing a player of his talent was nearly dealt for a disposable big man like a Josh McRoberts and a 1st rounder? I didn't even bring up the fact that he and Tony Allen got into a fight over a card game on the team plane! Seriously, who does that? I like Mayo's game and think he's a talented player, but I just feel like he's settling for being a J.R. Smith type of one dimensional type of player who seems like a headcase when he has the potential to be an Allen Iverson caliber player in the league. That's all.

We had Allen Iverson, he was crazy as hell!!! How about JR Smith making those shots at the end of the last game and basically looking at George Karl and being like "see, I told you so dumb ass old man!!!"

Game 2 wasn't a blowout but Spurs still won that game. Right now I'm out of words. Memphis looks hungry. 3-1 isn't impossible to overcome, but if the Spurs keep turning it over at the rate they have been, it will be. Bottom line: We're just unlucky at staying healthy since that 07' title. Whyyyyyy did Manu have to mess his elbow up in the last game of the regular season. He doesn't look the same out there.

Should have tanked I guess! Awesome game tonight , best in FEF history no doubt. I expect the Spurs to come out big time in game 5 they will not pull a Lebron and roll over. Curious adjustments by POP tonight, Splitter got abused bad. Don't expect to see him again in the series.

Curious adjustments by POP tonight, Splitter got abused bad. Don't expect to see him again in the series. I have no idea what to expect for Game 5. Splitter put up 10 points and 9 boards in only 21 minutes. If you're talking about abused on the defensive end, well, everybody got abused, so with that being the case I thought Tiago did pretty well. You're probably just remembering the Arthur dunk on him, which was pretty bad, but overall Tiago played fine. Turnovers are the big thing. It's out of control at this point, trying to push the pace to much instead of just doing the basic fundamentals that has made the team so successful in the past.

Splitter got 6 points in the first half in like 3 minutes, all of which were buckets I could have gotten where the Grizz just lost their fucking minds on D and just let him go free, no idea what happened there. Other than that I didnt remember him doing much, I guess though compared to Blair he is a better option to guard Gasol and Zbo, as neither of them scored a ton.

After reading some of the press this AM i am a bit surprised how much people are saying its over and all. I mean the Spurs are not gonna quit. If they win game 5, which is very much do-able, if not likely, that puts a LOT of pressure on the Grizz to win game 6 at home, pressure that most of our players have never even come close to experiencing. I am not counting them out.

I still say Grizzlies in 6, wouldn't be surprised if the Spurs win in 7 though, but not expecting it.

I am not counting them out. It's not over but I won't be surprised if the Grizzlies close it out in Game 5. This whole series has the same feel of the one last year when the Spurs played Phoenix and the Suns swept their way to a series win through winning Games 3 and 4 in SA. Of course, I hope I'm wrong, but the Spurs just look frustrated and confused (punctuated by Dyess throwing his mouth-guard last night). If they somehow win Game 5 and somehow, someway find a way to win in Memphis, I think they win in 7, but that's obviously very premature.

Epic fail by Grizz. Series probably over, Grizz will fold in Memphis, I have faith.

Epic fail by Grizz. Series probably over, Grizz will fold in Memphis, I have faith. Oh come on dude, the Spurs barely, barely got away with winning that one on their home floor, while your Grizz butchered them on theirs. Memphis is such a tough place to win, and Z-Bo remains nearly unguardable at this point. I nearly questioned everything in my life when they changed that Manu 3 to a 2 (it was the right call, but to end the season on that note would have been just downright cruel). Gary Neal has been hitting huge 3's all year long for us, and he seems like a great guy, so I'm glad he got his chance to shine tonight. I still think the Grizz have a fantastic chance of closing this out on their home floor, but even if they don't, they showed they can still put up a huge fight in San Antonio. I have nothing but respect for them (some of their fans, obviously, is a different story, no one on this board or anything, though), they are as tough an 8th seed as there ever was.
