So, we still think Eli is not in the upper echelon of QB's??? He's no Brady, Brees, or Rodgers - but he's in the next tier with Roethlisberger. Agreed. Well said.

Is Alex Smith in the tier after that?
Sincerely, Bitter 49er Fan hoping for a Real QB to get us over the hump

Eli Manning got the Safety on Brady and also made the Patriots receivers drop passes? Just saying. I like how everyone is glossing over the fact that the Welker "drop" was a super shitty pass and just blaming it all on Welker. Should he have caught it? Probably, but it was a shitty throw. Whatever, I am not saying he is better than Brees, Brady or Rodgers, as they all put up some gaudy stats in the regular season, but they don't give out the Lombardi trophy at the end of 16 weeks. Dan Marino was awesome in the regular season, yet he is never mentioned with the Montana's, Young's, Aikman's, Favre's of all time greats. There is a reason for that.

The difference is I would say those QB's did more for winning the super bowl compared to Eli. I would say Eli's team and more importantly defense was why they have two super bowls.
First super bowl was that lucky ass catch on Tyree's helmet and there were a lot of mistakes and dropped passes for the Patriots, not even talking about just the Welker one, there were plenty. But maybe that was the defense just stepping up.
I just don't think Eli is this superior QB and I still think Dan Marino is a better QB, just because he doesn't have rings doesn't mean he isn't. Or else we are going to say Trent Dilfer is better than Dan Marino? Mark Rypien? Jeff Hostetler? I am sure I can keep going.

Look at the stats, he has throw for 4,000 yards the last four seasons, almost 5,000 this year. Trent Dilfer never got close to 4k yards. 2700 in his best season ever. Eli is way above these type of QB's. I think the years will play it out, he will be good for many more years. I am not too worried about it. I think the comparing him to guys like Dilfer is a cop out.

Cop out? I don't hear you speaking up about the previous year where Eli had what, 27 Int's? Led the league? Just saying.

Tony Romo sucks, we don't need stats to tell us that. Some things just can't be measured. You are the only human being on Earth who thinks Tony Romo is a better QB than Eli Manning.

Well if you are going to throw out your little stat argument, then I will prove you wrong, cause Eli's stats really aren't that awesome for his career.
Sure he had almost 5,000 yards, but if you hadn't noticed, hella people had over 5,000 yards this year. It has turned into a passing game with the way the penalties are called on defense's.
I would say Eli has had a better O-line compared to Romo over all these years as well and Romo still has better stats.
