Weak. This has ruined my day, no NBA means more real basketball (college) and less basketball entertainment where they run up and down on a basketball court but don't actually play the game. Fuck the NBA

fun opening day
I hate the heat....can't even stand to watch them play if they aren't losing......maybe when the bulls beat them in the playoffs, it will make a whole season of seeing them win 9 out 10 games and shoot 5000 FT's a game will be worth it......
Cool to see 2 games today won at the wire......
I think I might actually cheer for the knicks this year......I enjoy watching tyson chandler play the best pick and roll defense in the league....he can effectively guard 3 guys on the pick n roll...its crazy....
watching the chris paul's play now against warriors....mark jackson might actually be an ok coach.........Blake Griffin is quickly going into my hated player list......he is much too focused on showing people up with dunking on them instead of knowing how to play basketball....he would be lost if he had a coach like adelman or sloan......
my pick for nba champs not named heat are the Thunder....going to scary....particularly if Perkins can get away with moving screens all year.....hahaha

I'm hopeful the 76ers can win the Atlantic. I think the Celts have slipped a bit, and the compressed season won't help their older players. The Knicks I'm confident will find a way to screw things up enough - although Chandler makes them a much better team. The chick on the left is really smoking hot - that looks burns. Here's a link to the Sixers' dance team. www.nba.com/sixers/dance/

Celtics - Knicks: Joey Crawford strikes again. I seriously couldn't care less who won this game, but Crawford randomly calling technicals for no reason really annoyed me. This is the same guy that threw out Tim Duncan for laughing on the bench. I don't get why he is continually regarded as "one of the best in the game" at his job when he is known for these kinds of instances more than his good games. By the way, Marquis Daniels also stripped Melo clean on that last play, but nope, BS foul wins NY the game basically. KG choking Bill Walker? First off, it's Bill Walker, second off, why KG? Why haven't you matured after being in this league for 17 years now? Walk away.
Heat - Mavs: Didn't watch a ton of this one. Heat look scary good. I have them winning the title right now. I still don't support what the Mavs are doing. Seems pretty disrespectful to just dump half the team that just won you your first title, in the hopes that a Dwight Howard or Deron Williams will come next year. Focus on this year, IMO. They'll be a mixed bag all season long and probably a second round exit at best.
Chicago - L.A.: Insane game. Bulls play badly, Lakers role players perform above-average, and the Bulls still win. I enjoyed seeing Kobe get shut down for once in the last 5 seconds. I got nervous when he got the ball at the end.
Orlando - OKC: Could Dwight Howard look more disengaged at this point? Ryan Anderson is their second best player. Ryan Anderson! That whole "let's surround Dwight with nothing but 3 point shooters who can't play much defense" only worked "magically" (Ha ha!) for that one special year in 08-09. Now it just looks plain terrible for some reason. I can't place my finger on it. Might have to do with Hedo Turkoglu getting the talent sucked out of him like a player from "Space Jam". That's my best theory
L.A. Clippers - Golden State Warriors: Hooray! I am free of listening to Mark Jackson's stupid movie trailer-esque wannabe catch phrases going into commercial breaks and his obviously scripted devil's advocate role against the much funnier and much more talented Jeff Van Gundy when listening to nationally televised games. So for that, thanks Golden State! I actually like that team, and think Jackson could be a pretty good coach (those awful sound-bites provided tonight didn't do him justice, based on the team's defense especially in the first half). The Clippers look good. DeAndre Jordan's arms go longer distances than one would first think, and the team's guard-play is arguably the best in the league. CP3, Mo Williams, Billups, and a "great when he's hot" shooter like Foye? Wow.
Here's to a great season, and hopefully some revenge tomorrow for my Spurs against the Grizzlies (although I'm not holding my breath on that one).

Fuck Joey Crawford, no idea how he has a job. He is terrible.
And yeah, Blake Griffin is a giant douche. He may be overtaking Lebron, only bc he has nowhere near the talent level of LBJ. Oh well, I will enjoy real post players like Zbo fucking torching him while espn just shows him dunking, then whispers that the Clipps lost by 30. I am not sold on CHris Paul being the savior. He had some good teams in NO and never made the finals. The clipps have 3 good players. That's it.
Pumped about Grizz Spurs tonight, but Grizz have gotten an F- this offseason IMO. They gave Gasol a massive deal, which is ok if you have to. They appeared to be bidding against themselves. Then they traded Vasquez after he played well in the playoffs. Hollins continues his theme of getting rid of quality backup PGs. Now we have a terribly unbalanced roster with no quality backup bigs. Maybe we are about to pull another trade, but as is we have a bunch of 1/2s who have never played a meaningful NBA game. Without a trade I am going to be surprised to see us compete for a top playoff seed. Unless Rudy gay makes some drastic leap.

Nice write-ups, Dan. Kobe was clearly fouled by Deng on that last play though, after Deng traveled right before that and it didn't get called. If the shell of Pau Gasol or Josh McBobs had made just one of those 4 FTs they had in the last minute, the Lakers probably would have won. Still gotta be pretty happy with how the team played sans Bynum against one of the Top 3 teams in the league.
