Trading Dwight Howard for that collection of stuff? Even the picks are underwhelming.
The 76ers got more back for what they gave up.

It's an awful, awful move for the Magic.
The Rockets reportedly had the best package, offering young players on cheap contracts, picks for this past draft, future picks, as well as over 12 million in cap room.
Not only do the Magic get three awful first round picks seeing they are first round picks from the Sixers, Lakers, and Nuggets, who will all be very good teams, those picks are also LOTTERY PROTECTED!!!!
Just awful, I feel bad for that fan base. They definitely deserved better than this.
With that said, I don't see Howard being as dominant as many are expecting him to be. I see him averaging around the same numbers as Bynum did for the Lakers.
As a Spurs fan, I'm not panicking. The Lakers will constantly be surrounded by drama and pressure to pretty much win every game. The minute they go on a three-game losing streak everyone will lose it. Have fun dealing with those egos Mike Brown!
I still say the West is a four-team race at this point between OKC, SA, LA, and even Denver who added Iggy for basically nothing. It's not a one-team race like ESPN would have you believe. Turn off your television.

Its funny though Dan, every ESPN writer yesterday still picked Miami to win it all, and OKC is still better.
I think the term one used is "The mvoes the Lakers have made made them better than any team with a plural nickname" or something like that.

I think Howard will be better than Bynum, mostly because, well he's been better than Bynum.
The lottery protected picks are what really sucks.
The Magic got a few young players on cheap contracts, but one of Vucevic & Harkless need to become a solid starter for them.
Honestly, the 76ers gave up a lot here, in what are essentially 3 first round picks: , one they just made, one they made very recently, plus a future pick, plus Iggy.
I'm not sold on the current front office of the 76ers, but they did shake things up. Honestly, I think the Magic might have been better off just dealing with Houston, or any of the other possibilities that were on the table.
It does make the Lakers a major factor, though. I don't see Denver as quite being at that same level as the other 3 teams.
