Your homerism is getting to you. Parker is nowhere near as good as Paul. Or Westbrook. Or Rose, assuming he comes back the same player. He needs to play much better defense if he wants to be considered top 5. Love watching him on offense though (while simultaneously hating him).

Chris Paul is WILDLY overrated IMO. Hell Conley outplayed him in our series. Parker is really really really good right now. Like Dan said, SA didn't even play that great.

On what measure? Because he had a bad series against the Grizz?

On what measure? Because he had a bad series against the Grizz? No, I just feel like so much of popularity is manufactured. He is an average defender at best and has no mid range or outside game to speak of. His only attribute that is above average is running to the rim and falling. He is a poor mans Wade.

Interesting article from earlier this season: bleacherreport.com/articles/1539871-is-tony-parker-overtaking-chris-paul-as-nbas-top-point-guardPersonally, I love the way Paul controls games more than anything. Also, I think their method of using opposing PG's PER against to measure defense is somewhat flawed. But interesting article either way.

Either way, there is also the fact that Parker is playing for his 4th ring and Paul has never made a conference finals. Granted, Paul has been on some shit teams in New Orleans, but still.
Pumped about the game tonight. Watching the playoffs is s lot more fun when you have nothing at stake as a fan. Man, if the Spurs steal another one will they scapegoat and trade Bosh before game 3? Fire Spolstra? Sacrifice the "good game, good effort" kid???

Crushing loss for SA there but they managed to steal homecourt regardless. I thought game 2 was a lot closer than the final score would imply, it was neck and neck till the mid-3rd quarter where Miami just got hot and San Antonio went completely out of sync. Not saying that its a good thing but for 90% of the series in Miami, its been pretty damn close and now the Spurs are heading home for 3 straight.

Have to love the media.
After Game 1 it was "Spurs will win in 5/6", now somehow Miami has retained control of the series and are going to win in 6/7?
Make up your mind.
Fact is the Big Three played one of the worst games they've ever played, and that does not happen often. It probably won't happen in San Antonio, that's for sure. And they had a good chance to win Game 2 up until Miami took off.
Bottom line is they came away with a split, and I bet they're pleased with that.
Not panicking at all. I don't see any reason why SA still can't win this in 6, as per my original prediction.

Well Grizz finally cut the cord on Hollins' return. Looks like we will almost certainly be hiring assistant Dave Joerger now. Should be interesting. The Memphis media is WILD. Basically you have Ron Tillery who is Lionel's BFF, no lie, these guys must golf together every day or something. He is losing his shit on Twitter calling out the management. He is using all the dog whistles and trying to imply all this shit about why he was fired, when it appears to have boiled down to this:
Hollins publicly criticized his boss, then in closed door meetings didn't back down off those at all, so no new deal was reached and his contract wasn't renewed. However, to hear Tillery tell it you would think we just fired Phil Jackson after the 2nd 3-peat. Just a wild wild time in Memphis right now.

Tony Parker reportedly going to play tonight despite the hamstring injury he suffered in Game 3.

Big blow for the Spurs if he can't go. Will be interesting to see how effective he is. OF course I won't get to see most of the game b/c I have to go to my wife's law firm's dinner party. Woo boy that should be fun....

Parker only had a 8/6 outing in game 3 but both Danny Green and Gary Neal stepped up in a big way. If those two can play half as well as they did in Tuesday's game then I really like the Spurs' chances tonight.
Regardless pretty much everyone is kinda banged up by the Finals (i.e. Wade).
