Hakim is looking awesome. He is playing both ends of the floor very well. He isn't gonna come in and play like Micheal Jordan like Nate thinks...haha but he will replace Stro and more.
Oh, and Sixers....watch a Grizz game before you just say something. Most of Warricks points this preseason have been jump shots.

Hakim Warrick....a poor mans Eddie Griffin minus the character issues, which I suppose cancel each other out, so he's basically equal to Eddie Griffin. Not bad, but the Grizz need more than that to get to the playoffs, let alone get past round 1. Jerry West sure has been underwhelming in Memphis thus far.

28 wins to 50 wins is underwhelming?

West has been so-so in the trade and draft department, but where he's helped memphis the most is in his coach choices and most importantly, just being there. The fact that he is who he is has given us more exposure than we would have ever had otherwise. Until West came, no one took us serious.

well i know some guy who has seen warrick play a couple of games and watch him in some other workouts and this guy tells me that he is really working on his jumper and seems to be having nice success with it. he said somethin bout hitting several 20 footers against the wiz in the second half. also said something about the coahcing staff really loveing him and are shocked they were able to get this guy late in the 1st round. so if what this dude is telling me warrick will see around 12 mins a night come reg season mostly at the 3 and some at the 4. replace swift? well i think you will be very pleased.

With as little as Swift was utilized, I don't see his loss hurting the Grizz at all. Warrick will probably get 15-20mpg, same as Swift, and so the same thing. They're like clones..
They're both 6'9" wit some time in the weight room much needed. Their strength is their athleticism, which results in the highlight dunks and blocked shots. Neither is known for his jump shot, but both can knock one down once in a while to keep you honest. Neither is an overwhelmingly adept rebounder, and both can be forces on the defensive end.
If Swift blows up for a 14/8/1/1/2 season, you may say he's missed. But even if he has that kind of talent, the Grizzlies won games and got to the playoffs by using him sparingly, the same amount that they'll be using the VERY similar Warrick.
So I agree wit Nate, I don't think Swift's production will be missed at all.

it wasn't so much about missing his production as missing his potential. Swift never lived up to his talent with us, but every year you're just waiting for him to blow up because that's what he's capable of. But, since Warrick is near identical, it makes the loss of that potential easier, since warrick is capable of the same.

underwhelming in Memphis thus far. yeah before jerry we had a season high like 28 wins then jerry comes and we go to the playoffs for the 1st time then when 50 games and make the playoffs again. i dont think one person here or even in the franchise thought we would have even come close to the playoffs the past two seasons let alone make it both years. come on and give me a break with the jerry hasnt done anything talk.

warrick is not near the shot blocker as stro but he kills him with ball handling (something warricks is very good at) game awareness(none for stro) and just being a smart guy (again stro none). i like warrick but not so much the hype yet boys. hes talented but has shane battier, tay jones, b-card, pau, lo ren, mike miller, and eddie jones ahead of him in the rotations at the 3 and 4.

nevertheless, he's doing this against NBA starters. Most rookies struggle even in preseason I'm sure I don't have to remind you but there is one case that I do remember very well. When I saw Drew Gooden pre season before his rookie year I thought he was gonna be Tim Duncan. Boy his numbers in that pre season were just AMAZING. 20pts 20reb like... On the other hand, LeBron had a bad pre season. So it's worth what it's worth. Obviously he can be good but pre season means 0.
