Titans didn't make any big name signings, but I'm happy with the offseason so far. Hell, can't be any worse than last year. Might have missed it, but I still can't seem to find how much they gave up for Harry Douglass beyond it being a 3 year deal. We still have some holes, but it's a start. April 30th needs to hurry up and get here. Wanna see what happens with the 2 pick. Looks like we're most likely taking leonard williams or marcus mariota if we don't trade it.

I wouldn't think they would after getting burned by vince young and jake locker, but who knows with them. They've been a catastrophe for a while now. I'd rather take Williams or trade for more picks, but if they did take Mariota I wouldn't be too upset.

If they take Mariota.. it'll be a clusterfuck. I don't see him as a NFL QB, personally, and Whizenhunt doesn't have a good track record with young QBs. Plus he is the exact opposite of what he likes in a QB. But Webster has already messed this offseasin up, by sticking to the same philosophy of his, which is sign veteran Fas in overpriced deals.. then when they fail the first year, cut them.. so hope Titans clear house after next season. Rather that's just the Front Office or that includes the coaching staff as well.. we need new ideas here.

Just basing it on reading people say he has the tools and IQ to adapt. That's why I don't really want us to take him, but could accept it if we did (until he sucks and i'm like what the fuck titans). I'd rather take williams or trade for more picks and see what mett can do next season before we write him off. The NFL has proven you can win without an elite QB, just need an elite defense, which we obviously don't have yet. So we're fucked right now regardless. I didn't get to watch the titans play last year because they don't show the games here, but from what i've heard, whiz is kinda shit and made some horrible in game calls. Not overly excited about him going forward. As far as overpriced deals, as long as the guaranteed money isn't too high I don't worry about it as much because of how the NFL handles contracts. Main one i'm worried about is orakpo because of injury issues.

Not overly excited about him going forward. As far as overpriced deals, as long as the guaranteed money isn't too high I don't worry about it as much because of how the NFL handles contracts. Main one i'm worried about is orakpo because of injury issues. Well when I say overpriced veteran FAs.. I mean look at the deals and what other teams have done.. Lets just start off by listing the Titans FA signings/resignings. Titans resigned the following players: DE/LB Derrick Morgan - 4 years around $30 million P Brett Kern - 5 yrs $15 mill LS Beau Brinkley - 3 $5.75 mill K Ryan Succop - 3 yr deal DE Karl Klug - 2 year deal Can't say much about these, as I'm glad we got Morgan back and the rest are just whatever to me. Kern is by far the best player in that K/LS/P group, and Klug is a hard worker on the field. Then went into FA and signed the following. WR Harry Douglas to a 3 yr deal LB Brain Oakapo - 4 yrs around $31 million S Da'Norris Searcy - 4 yrs $23.75 million TE Anthony Fasano to a undisclosed contract, can't seem to find the numbers atm. CB Perish Cox - 3 yrs $15 million Now lets break down each FA signing. Douglas is an aging WR, who has been nothing more than a slot/fill in WR, his entire career. Now has he put up good/solid numbers? Yes, but I think any WR would if they had Julio/White on the outside of them, and Matt Ryan throwing them the ball.. Plus the fact that a younger version of him, Cecil Shorts (former Jags WR) signed a 2 yr deal with the Texans.. Now why didn't we go after Shorts before signing Douglas? I'll tell you why.. its due to Webster/the FO's FA philosophy (my opinion on what his philosophy is) and thats the problem.. They rather sign veteran players than go after a upcoming player, rather that is them not being able to sell that upcoming player on the city (Nashville) or what.. I just don't get how we can think HARRY DOUGLAS is going to fix our WR problems.. If nothing else, he'll give us the exact same production that Nate gave us.. Onto the secondary signings of Cox and Searcy. If both play up to their levels of the past season, then both contracts could be a nice little bargains. However, if both fail to play to ththat level then it'll just be two more failed FA signings and 2 more players waiting to be cut due to poor play. The Orakpo signing is a high risk/high reward type of contract that I'm not sure we should've done. Unless our doctors said he was 200% healthy, no way I (as a GM) would've gave him this type of contract. His injury past just puts up too many red flags. I'm sure they gave themselves a way out of the deal, after 1 season, if he misses too much playing time, but I have no faith in our FO atm. So I fully expect this deal to be a terrible one and for the Titans to clean house after the season (hopefully).

Mike Mularkey probably played a role in the douglas signing. I'm whatever with him coming on. I don't think he'll be an impact player, but don't think he'll hurt us. Just don't understand why I haven't seen the actual amount posted anywhere. Like you said, orakpo is a high risk/reward type deal. Have to wait and see on that. I'm definitely worried though sense he's had 3 peck injuries. Seems incredibly high, but supposedly he's changed his training. Of course, that's what any player would say when there's red flags around him. Most seemed to like the cox/searcy signings, albeit a little overpaid for limited success. Regardless, I like our signings more this year than last. Whether that translates to wins though is another thing. I think we've also had some shit luck lately. Seems like anytime we take "sure thing" players they fail. Warmack was supposed to be one of the top guys in the draft and a can't miss prospect, now you got people calling him a bust after 2 seasons. Whoever we take at 2 will probably suck just because we drafted him

and sankey and hunter are off to a shit start too Warmack just need to stay in shape, I think his struggles last season (early on) was due to not being in shape. Now I can't remember if he had a injury during TC or not, but if he can keep his weight down he should be fine. As he was our best player on offense by the end of the year, though that isn't saying much. lol As for Sankey and Hunter, jury is out on them still. Sankey gets the benefit of the doubt, since it was his rookie season and he did miss a month of OTA's and practices (due to finishing school up at Washington), plus had a garbage OL blocking for him. However, if he doesn't show some promise this season then it'll be worrisome. Hunter, on the other hand, just needs to put in the actual work. I'm a huge Tennessee Vols fan (the school Hunter came out of), and during the the 2011 season (when he tore his ACL against Florida) he was becoming one of the better WRs in the SEC. After that injury he just seems to be playing scared and afraid to take any major chances on that knee, which is understandable for a young kid. So if he can get over the mental humps (from that injury) and work on his cart (route running), he has loads of potential. Also he needs to be on some weight..

I graduated from tennessee. didn't watch hunter play because i live in florida now and never really kept up with college football anyway since i grew up in memphis, which was a basketball town and never had shit for a football team until deangelo williams, but I've read about hunter not being the same since the injury.

It's been one of the most if not the most interesting offseasons ever. So much movement.
I was depressed losing Suh but signing Ngata made up for a ton of that. Plus that Suh contract is going to be an albatross. I am interested to see what we get at RB. I thought Spiller would have been a great fit, Vereen too. I have been reading of their interest in Gurley. That would be great. I wouldn't be opposed to drafting Gordon either.
I can Jerry Jones doing what he can to move up for one of them RBs though.
Saints and Eagles seem so confused in their direction.
Love seeing the Pats lose so much!!
The Jets are going to be real good.
I like the Rams moves as well.

Eagles aren't confused. It's just that Chip Kelly is in control. He's nuts!!!
You guys made out by acquiring Ngata and replacing him with Suh. The contract for Suh...quite simply blows.
