We are so used to LeBron being great. He is being grossly overlooked this year, as we expect greatness from him. Facts on his season:
Third highest FG% of his career (.543) Second highest 3PT% of his career (.385) [teetering on the edge of career best] Highest RPG total of his career (8.4) Highest APG total of his career (8.8)
When you think about the remarkable career he has had, those four facts (particularly the last two) all coming together in one season is pretty memorable.

Fun fact on Russell. If he wins the MVP on his current numbers, he would have the lowest shooting percentage of any MVP...EVER. Sorry, I'm not counting Bob Cousy's .378 in 1956-57. He wasn't even playing the same sport we are today.
Most people look at 31.4/10.5/10.3. What you should be looking at is .418/.824/.336 on 5.4 TOPG. Those are the real numbers. Still, remarkable season, but there are better candidates.

Does he though? He has some kids...and Andre Roberson's free throws, but he also has some good enough support there as well.

Sidenote on the Roberson comment above. This is your boy Andre Roberson at the FT line last night against the Warriors.

The hate on Westbrook is real
Westbrook is MVP in my opinion if he can hold that triple double. If not then my vote goes to LBJ

He shouldn't be #3 in assists with the dreadful lack of shooters they have. Abrines comes off the bench and does okay, not sure about Oladipo because he was terrible from outside with Orlando then his 3% immediately jumps up playing next Russell.

I tried to vote for D'Angelo Russell but couldn't find him. Must have been an oversight by the commish when he made the poll.

Next year Embiid will be MVP with lonzo ball and Ben Simmons help I'm no Sixers fan, but man that would be awesome. If the Lakers don't get Ball, I hope he goes to Philly.

Russell has a pretty trash supporting cast. I'd argue the thunder supporting cast is not materially worse or better than rockets supporting cast. Thunder guys better at defense and more athletic. Rockets guys better shooters. I think harden has elevated the game of his role players more than Westbrook has.

Identity, fit and system is a bigger deal than individual talent and we got them in this regard. Also got the COTY.
