Decent article
Alienated some fans, but you would be surprised at how much loyalty was devoted to the process. Practically everyone still talks about it
The draft lottery parties are literally about the process...this past one Hinkie was sent to the rafters at xfinity

Oh I know, I'm an hour outside of Philly myself. Also talked to countless fans who are understandably pissed it took this long. I mean, they wasted two solid years and drafted Noel and Okafor so it didn't all go to plan. But, here we are.

At the end of the day, it worked and it was necessary. As long as those guys stay healthy of course. Anyone who thought it would be a quick process was delusional and idiotic

I don't think Noel is a bad player, but my god is jah okafor an absolute bum. Heard a rumor that Hinkie wanted Porzingus in that draft, but got out numbered...
Also yesterday retweet Armageddon dominated the twitter waves...absolutely amazing

Yep that's what I heard to.
Basically the notion that you can't tank for a year then pick a guy no one's ever heard of. If true - that's super stupid.
But then again if they draft Porzingis then maybe they don't get Simmons or Fultz and that whole domino effect. Who knows?

We can just trade for porzingus if we really want him now lol

Just read about the Lakers trade D'Lo + Mozgov For Brook Lopez and pick 27 I don't get it looks like a really bad deal for the lakers

As a Laker fan I don't love it but I get it. Idea is another pick to add to any offer for PG13 who is gonna go cheap due to the idea he's going to LA anyway next year. Plus you get a year to look at Brook. And finally you only need to open another 17 million now to have 2 max level contracts. Lots of reasons to do the deals none that involve any guarantees. But neither is Dlo who still hasn't show top end talent yet. Nets get him cheap though and I still think he turns out well.
But the biggest thing here is Magic fixing Mitch's mistake in signing Mozgov go that deal and his perceived idea that Russell was also a mistake.

I actually think Russell has always been overrated. I like it.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of D Russ after wanting the 6ers to get him in the draft. Grant it, I'd take him over that bum Jah, but still...think it's one of those win-win type deals for now. Nets have nothing to lose to see if they might have something with him as they continue to sit out of the NBA draft while tanking...that's not a process you trust.

I mean my biggest thing is, and yeah I know we have new management so its a different mindset, but we used a #2 on him just two years ago, and now we're basically using him as a piece to gain cap space for NEXT year, having to attach him to a player we signed last year to a huge deal. Just a waste of resources, even if I get why we do this year. All is fine if Ball turns out to be the superstar he is projected as and Ingram develops into a star, and we end up with Paul George as is expected, but thats a shit load of ifs. Just would rather load up on youth and hope we hit on a number of those guys, than hinge on signing guys that are still a year out. But again, I understand and don't mind the logic used here.
I would have liked to see Russell play off ball with Ball before we gave up on him, because I think he would have thrived there, but oh well.

Brook is a borderline All-Star. You're getting a good player to push for the playoffs this season if you can snag Jimmy or George ASAP.
