When was this? During any of the dialogue scenes last season or when Starbucks showed up or the scene where Bronn somehow snuck into Winterfell with giant ass Lannister crossbow to threaten the Lanni-bros and then obtain a potentially empty promise or when Jaime bounced for apparently no reason at the end of the episode? Episode 3 killed the purpose of the series. Seasons 5, 7, and 8 have all been bad. 6 was great but it's clear these writers are lost as fuck. Even without source material, they are fucking up bad. They made key decisions in name of "subversion". I actually didn't have a problem with them killing off the NK in episode 3 but the way they went about their whole battle plan was beyond dumb. Thing is if you let the NK win at Winterfell it's basically a wrap for any sort of tension in the final 3 episodes because the Lannister's combine forces has no dragons, dragon glass, and was generally not prepared at all for the White Walkers. But I agree this show has slowly gone off the rails since they moved past the books, Tyrion has been butchered by the show's writers, they don't know what to do with half the characters, and it feels like they're racing to the end. The only saving grace has been some amazing action sequences and great music (Ramin Dja real MVP). I do wonder if GRRM is running into the same issues in writing Winds of Winter.

GRRM is honestly to be blamed. Man has taken 10 years to write each book

Dude I need to watch it again. I think people sleep on it. I know many of my friends who have neither heard of it or watched it. It’s ridiculous

Listen to their logic and you'd find they decide to do things just to surprise the audience even if it's not remotely hinted ever. GRRM isn't the one telling dumb and dumber to ignore the shows own themes and lore.

White Walkers and Azor Ahai is definitely going in a vastly different direction in the books. The subverted AA so we'd be shocked by Arya liking the WW.

Man, I need to read to books to recover from this nonsense. This season is actually wanting me to read the books lol The dialogue was incredible. It managed to advance the plot, show character and have underlying meaning. Now, you have characters memeing one liners and speaking modernly. Books did so many things right. It's downfall was GRRM wanting to have a stupid amount of subplots and characters

I have no problem with Dany's turn other than that I think they could have sold the possibility better. I thought that the battle was whether or not she'd destroy the red keep and kill all the people they packed into it or if she wouldn't. The fact that she just started murdering the entire city...even leaving Cersei alone for the first part of it...seemed to be the stretch. That was just malicious.
They didn't establish her hate for the people of the city. Just the rulers of the city. So killing all the civilians didn't feel justified.
On the other hand the Mad King wasn't a psycho his entire life. He did stuff WAY worse than what Dany did and he didn't start going crazy until he had been ruling for a number of years. From that perspective I don't have a problem with Dany turning crazy.
