The West is loaded with quality teams. I dont see Utah making it into the playoffs. I think Portland will be in. They still have Rahim to trade they were a much improved team with the addition of Ratliff last year.

utah will make it into the playoffs........they had a bunch of no names last year (except AK47) and they almost made it in! with a healthy harpring........and with a big man combination of boozer and okur......i see the jazz getting a good seed in the playoffs............i predict 6th.

1) San Antonio Spurs-Parker, Barry, Manu, Tim, Rasho is a great lineup. 2) Minnesota Timberwolves-Sammy C, Spree, Wally Z, Garnett, Kandiman good but could be better. 3) Sacramento Kings-Bibby, Christie, Peja, Webber, Miller solid but unspectacular. 4) Denver Nuggets-Miller, Lenard, Melo, KMart, Camby and 6th man of the yr(my prediction) Nene is playoff caliber 5) Phoenix Suns-Nash, Johnson, Marion, Amare, Lampe is young and loaded with offense. Do they have enough D? 6) Utah Jazz-Arroyo, Snyder, Kirilenko, Boozer, Okur is a talented starting five locked up long term. Okur though is overrated(my opinion) 7) Los Angeles Lakers-Payton, Kobe, Caron, Odom, Grant with Vlade off the bench. Playoff experienced but lost Shaq. 8) Dallas Mavericks-Harris, Finley, Howard, Walker, Dirk is solid offensively but not defensively. Or 8) Houston Rockets-Lue, TMac, Jackson, Howard, Yao beats almost any lineup. If they upgrade the PG spot.
There is going to be 9-10 teams fighting out there. Phoenix I think will shock people. They are better than what most people realize. I forgot Memphis though. Memphis would be five with Utah 6, Phx 7 and LAL, Dallas, and Houston fighting for 8.

Since there are now 30 NBA teams, the new divisions will be evenly balanced (5 teams per division) but I agree the seedings are not fair when each team will face each other the same amount of time (4 vs same conf, 2 vs other conf)

yep................3 divisons for each conference..........i dunno is stern is gonna have each division winner be automatically the 1, 2, and 3 seeds......that would be lousy........we'll just have to see....

Sorry gr8gm, I don't think there is anyway the Suns get the 5th seed. To weak up front. They have Amare to play downlow but besides that they suck. They need a defensive big man (Dampier-like) if they want to make noise next year.

i think damp is overrated............he had one great year in his contract year and now he'll get paid lots of money........i just think he played his hardest in order to get paid more money.....if he does get signed to a big deal........he better prove he's worth it.

i wonder where he'll go to.............i would rank grizzlies a little higher (just cuz they'd be a tad stronger at center..........dampier's overrated yes......but he's still good) if they got him but new york is what i'm hearing.........they'd be a little better than.........but one of his sources says he's interested in new york because "they're in the mix for a championship" lol.......that was funny.......

He would help the Grizz ALOT. He's not great, but he is one of the few true centers left in the NBA.
