Today is a sad day for fans of the Pistons. Their beloved owner has sadly passed away. Davidson purchased the Pistons in 1974 after failed attempts to purchase the local teams of the Detroit Redwings and the Detroit Lions. In his years of ownership, he helped bring the Pistons into the limelight with the Bad Boy years, which involved the likes of current President of basketball operations Joe Dumars, Isiah Thomas, Bill Lambier and the unforgetable Dennis Rodman resulting in back to back championships. Another championship was brought home during the 2004 season under the watchful eye of Dumars. Also, he added a Stanley Cup Championship with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2004 and 3 WNBA titles with the Detroit Shock to his growing list of titles. My condolances to the Davidson imidiate and extended family and may he R.I.P.

Sad day for Detroit Sports fans, and on the heels of former Pitsons coach Chuck Daly being diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer a few days ago.
RIP Mr. D.
