Not sure if it's enough to beat the Lakers, but I'm definitely liking the look of the Spurs starting five:
Parker Ginobili Jefferson Duncan McDyess
Bench: Hill/Mason/Finley/Blair/Bonner
A lot hinges on health, just like last year, and this will be the case for the next couple years as Timmy's and Manu's careers start drawing to a close. I think Jefferson is going to be terrific, and Dyess is a solid man to help Tim collect boards and block shots. Also very curious to see what Blair does for us. Will he be the second coming of Paul Millsap off the bench? That would be great.
Again, not sure if it's enough to be L.A., but I think the Spurs, for right now, are the clear cut #2 out West, and drastically improved this offseason.

I like the Spurs roster 5 years ago, and if Ginobili wasn't a giant douche.

I like the Spurs roster 5 years ago, and if Ginobili wasn't a giant douche. Turkoglu was a sweet shooting guard, never understood why we let him go for MLE money, just because he had a sub-par playoffs. How is Ginobili a douche though? I get that you think he's a flopper or something, but he's done God knows how many community service projects not just in the city of San Antonio, but his home country of Argentina as well. He's polite with the press, respectful of his opponents, and seems to play his heart out every night and try to play through injuries (like he did against the Lakers in the WCF two years ago, with disastrous results). Although, granted I'm biased, to me he's the definition of what a competitor is, right beside Jordan, and, dare I say it, Kobe.

I only mean he is douche on the court though. I'm sure he's a good guy off the court. Who is going to fill the Bruce Bowen role for them now? That's something they really need against the Lakers.

LMAO....Sirp your a fool
I'm a huge Laker fan, but a few teams have me nervous to be honest.
Number one is a healthy Magic roster. I think people are writing the Vince Trade off too much. Losing Turk sucks for the Magic, but gaining a vet leader, who has been doing his best Randy Moss impression (with the Raiders) for the last 2 years, he's going to be hungry.
Magic: Nelson Vince Lewis Bass/Gortat Howard
Thats pretty scary!
Another team that scares me is the Blazers. Greg Oden is down to 275, with an injury free off season. Not to mention the signing of Andre Miller to take the pressure off of Baylass and Blake, to be playoff leaders at that position. You add a healthy Martel Webster and a more seasoned Fernandez, Outlaw and Bayless, this team is scary.
Blazers lineup: Oden Aldridge Webster/Outlaw/Fernandez Roy Miller/Bayless/Blake
I'm also scared of the Celtics, Spurs, and Cavs

The Lakers dont fear the Blazers. Greg Oden, are you serious?? I have accomplished as much in the NBA as he has. He, to this point, is garbage. The Blazers would get run out of the gym in a 7 game series against the Lakers.
The Cavs? Thanks, come again. Shaq WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY past his prime, the rest of that team is still fucking horrible.
Orlando and Boston are the teams to beat in the East. I would put my money or Orlando b/c Boston just got older. Sheed hasnt shown much the last two seasons, but hell he could prove me wrong. We will see.
The VC acquisition is interesting. I am interested to see how he fits in there. I think it will be a success.
The Spurs are old. I am not sure adding RJ really helps that much. I mean I can see them winning the division and getting a 3rd seed, but I dont really see them pushing the Lakers at all.
