The 6ers dealt their only half decent reserve to the NJ Nets...for a conditional second round pick. Marc Jackson, the backup PF/C is now a Net. Where's the good ole banghead face This deal is absolutely horrid for the 6ers. A second stinkin round pick? Unless they're about to sign Steven Hunter for the MLE this trade makes no sense whatsoever. Who knows, maybe Andrew Deqlerck(sp?) will get a full MLE offer. Unbelieveable.

Quick note: as of now, Deng Gai(Luol Deng's cousin), Shav Randolph(the Dukie that never was), and Michael Bradley(the definition of a first round bust) are the Sixers backup bigs.

he might not have been that great, but he's better than what the 6ers now have. That is unless they sign a guy like Hunter or trade for Ratliff.

he dominated with the warriors a few years ago - and is a pretty good backup Agreed - I like Jackson. A good contingency move for the Nets after they refused to take on Abdur-Rahim (which is a story unto itself). Maybe with Carter, Kidd and Jefferson, having another offensive minded player (Abdur-Rahim) wasn't such a great idea? Jackson crashes the boards and plays solid defense. Certainly a lesser player than Abdur-Rahim, but maybe he could fit in better.

Certainly a lesser player than Abdur-Rahim, but maybe he could fit in better. I'm sorry, but did you see a single sixer's game last season? I haven't missed one in 2 years. Therefore, let me tell you that Jackson is an AWFUL help and one - on -one defender. He can't block a shot to save his life either. He is an avergae rebounder at best, in his best season at a pro he averaged 7.5 boards per game in 30 minutes And if you had looked into it at all, yould know the Sixer's also get the Net's mle exemption(because we cant give NJ jackson for nuttin, they are over the cap), which means we can offer two crucial expirings of j-mash and the net's exemption for a better back up C (as pistons mentioned, ratliff or hunter). Hunter/Daly would be a great young C combo, and u know how hard it is to find young c's that can play
