question is, would Fox news use that title on the bottom if she wasn't african american, unless you just photoshopped that. www.salon.com/politics/war_room/2008/06/11/fox_obama/Its the same news program that said "some people" call a first pound a terrorist fist jab.

the above picture is from a really really good statistician called Poblano (like the pepper)....he does stats for baseball prospectus and started using his regression analysis techniques in politics....
the map is not, I believe, based merely on the latest polling data.....all sorts of information go into it...
anyway, things are looking up for the good guys.....

Sorry, I have to to get something off my chest. Jesse Jackson has been in the news lately, and this is something that really bothers me. As a black man who is so proud to have a man like Obama to potentially be the leader of all Americans, Jesse Jackson has really discouraged me with his comments about Obama. The first is the fact that he said that Obama was talking down to black people in his speech on father's day which too me, was one of my favorite speeches ever from Obama. Obama wasn't talking down to black people, he was calling black men out. It is a problem in our community, and it takes courage for a man running for president to tell people that the government can only do so much, it is for us as Americans to take personal responsibility. I lost alot of respect for Jesse, and I've been a Jackson apologist, because of the great things he's done in the past. But with those comments said, he's a hypocrite in every sense of the word. His Rainbow Coalition fought for the rights of blacks to have this moment happen. An African American with a legit chance at the white house, and you want to cut his nuts off? You you kidding me? Because he calling out black men on being responsible? Jesse, you should be happy that Obama wants to go in challenge black men to be responsible. Being a product of a single mother, I know how important it is to have a male figure in a child's life. So I commend him for saying that. But Jesse, you really got it twisted man, and I lost alot respect for you, because everything that you stood for is reality, and you want to cut his nuts off because you don't agree on how he's talking to black people. You lost all credibility, and will not support you. Publicly, or privately, you should not be thinking that. Dr. King is turning in his grave because of what you said. And now with the latest thing that was found out you was saying the N-word, when you tried to abolish that word? You need to just sit back and let Barack lead the American people. What you said is downright despicable, and I lost all respect for you Jesse.

JJ is just a jealous hater. He wishes he was Obama. The truth is this whole incident makes Obama even more attractive to undecided voters. I don't think its unfair to say White America has regarded Jackson as a blowhard hypocrite mediawhore for years now.

I don't think its unfair to say White America has regarded Jackson as a blowhard hypocrite mediawhore for years now. pretty much...to me it just seems like he was born in a body, and it happened to be black, so he is gonna exploit that to the max. had he been asian, mexican, jewish, whatever, he would have been the same. It just so happens that he is black. granted, i am not black, but it seems to me in my short lifetime (under 30) he has done more bad than good for his "supposed" cause, and you are spot on, he is so damn jealous of obama it almost comical. Also, anybody see the skit with obama and jesses and al sharpton where he sends them to all the crazy countries, how true...

I'll post some cool maps for everyone for now until the election.....these maps take pollster.com averages of all national and local polls for the various states.... State of the Race as of 8-1-08Obama 336 vs McCain 202.Here is the same map with the states within 10 points painted Yellow indicating the battle ground states.... In that battle ground map above, 210 electoral votes are safe for Obama, but just 72 for McCain...nice.... arizona, miss, colorado, nevada, texas, alaska, georgia, SC, ND, SD, montana, and NC all new battleground states...the electoral math has changed since 2004.... here is the pollster.com map of the battleground states with a slightly different criteria than above...

I love it how McCain introduces himself to a non-political audience during the olympics as a negative, bitter old-man going on the attack and lying about obama.....
I want Obama to go more negative and attack McCain (particularly to tie him to Bush more)....but not during the olympic ads...just stay positive during those national ads...
BTW, this is the first time since 1996 with Dole that national Ad time was bought for a president.....we live in a political time where demographics and regions/states are targetted so specifically, that national ads are not cost effective.....glad to see them back this time around....

I really am sick of negative cmapaigning. Both these guys are not the usual members of their party. It would be nice if things were issues-focused, but most people couldn't handle that.

I really am sick of negative cmapaigning. Both these guys are not the usual members of their party. It would be nice if things were issues-focused, but most people couldn't handle that. as long as negative campaigning is found to get results, it will be used..... one thing that drew me to Obama was his mostly positive message and rejection of the idea that a washington politician must go negative to win over voters... however, after seeing how much traction McCain from the press when he goes negative against Obama, I just can't say to myself I want Obama to continue playing patty-cake..... the McCain goes negative with a national TV ad, gets lots of press, Obama responds with press release and gets very little coverage in his response to the lies, pattern is just too damaging IMO.... the good news is that I think voters are responding that they don't like too many negative ads....which is good news in the long run....and those voters are likely the ones in the middle.... at the very least, McCain has seen his base become more solid with the negative ads against Obama....it may lose him the middle, but it solidifies his base....
